I am more worried about playing Pittsburgh round 1, they are violating teams right now.

I really don't think that will carry over into the play offs.

If we make the playoffs and play Pittsburgh, I'll be satisfied, win or lose.

I just wish they'd put up a helluva fight to get into the playoffs. I don't give a crap who they play.

Wow, lots of negative people not believing in this team.

We'll make it.

You mean a lot of people being realistic at this point in time?

It's not that we don't want this team to succeed, it's that the team has not given us much to believe in lately in what has been pretty important games.

These next few will be even more important, so we'll see what the outcome is.

In order to "make it" and I know I am being selfish here, we need 6th place. We need the Panthers. Facing the Bruins, Penguins are easy losses. I think we can beat the Rangers. Just to make it would be special considering where all the experts ranked us. Not one believed in Ottawa. Not one.

This team plays different in front of Andy, if he comes in and the team gets a lead I can see them going on a bit of a tear.

Things need to improve but I think this is excellent timing and don't see us missing the playoffs.

I think making sure not falling to 8th is almost as big a deal as falling to 9th and missing the playoffs all together.

Matter of time before the Pens err Pennsylvania Globetrotters take over 1st spot. They are by far the scariest team in the league right now with Crosby back IMO. Even without him they were top 5. They are a lot better team than that Pens team that won the cup with no scoring wingers led by the 2 almost teenagers, and Geno wasn't even this good despite the cons. Forget Letang.

The panthers may pass boston for the second seed in which case seventh is fine

If the sens make the playoffs as the only CDN team in the East, this would be a great opportunity to expand the fan base.

On a side note: How bad do the Canadian teams suck? We're going to have maybe 1, maybe 2 out of 7 teams in the playoffs. What a dismal showing this year.

The part that has me worried is our schedule has us with 3 games in 4 nights this weekend (Fri Sat Mon)

Then 3 games in 4 nights next weekend (Sat Sun Tues) closing out with Thurs and Sat. (So 5 games in 7 days to end the season).
Plus we had that last weekend as well (Wed Fri Sat)

So a lot of tired games - against potentially fresher opponents.

I wish there was a way they could set up schedules such that the first 10 and last 10 games of a season are never back to back for teams... always seems like someone draws the short end of the stick that way with back to back games at the end of the season with the playoffs on the line (remember especially one year with WSH chasing CAR, where WSH kept playing the team that CAR had the night before).

I'm worried that this team is tiring down the stretch. All the Bingo kids played over 100 games of hockey last year, had a short off-season, and an early jump on training camp. Old players are old. Now's usuallly the time of year where the Vets can lean on the younger legs on the team and get ready for the playoffs, but our younger guys have played way too much hockey over the last calendar year for that to really happen.

I'm hoping that this little scoring slump we're seeing is just something that some rest can fix. Our goaltending behind Bishop has been remarkably solid, and with Andy coming back, I'd say we're completely fine in that regards... we just can't score. Lack of depth in our top-6 is costing us right now.

realistic? the way i see it is we are closer to being 2nd in the league than being out of a playoff spot.

We only need to jump 1 team to get to 2 while two teams need to jump us for us not to make it

Really? That sucks. I thought having played more games earlier would give the Sens a lighter schedule to finish out the season, and seeing the cushion they had when other teams had to win their games in hand was a good thing.

But those bursts of 3-in-4 games makes it a very tough season wrap-up. ****.

The Sens have a 4 day break next week. Still trying to decide if that is good or bad.

I hope you're right. Sens do have a tendency to beat good teams. Have a couple of tough games coming up.

Hopefully you weren't thinking about his 11 game goalless drought.

A 4 day break which breaks up 3 in 4 and 5 in 7 clumps of games (with back to back games in both those sets).

New Jersey by comparison basically just plays every other day to finish out the season with no back to backs.

ok, I'm fekking worried now. This is not the same team and our veterans need to lead these guys through as the games mean so much more. This is a pressure cooker and the Sens of old are starting to show. I'm worried for sure.
