Since we have a few people who didn't confirm for the new time, would you guys be alright if I invited my cousin along? I gurantee he can old his own in talking hockey with us after the game. He can talk hockey for his country.
I think with only 13 skaters confirmed, we should all be bringing friends to bump the numbers up to 20 skaters. I'm going to bring a few friends and confirm in this thread.
I think 20 is too many skaters for an 1:15 ice slot....if we got to 16 skaters, go 8 aside, that'd be ideal. If it was a 2hr slot, ya, I could understand more skaters

I'd vote for less skaters too as I suspect with the number of beginners coming out to play that I could probably coast through the entire time slot
$16.00 isn't a bad price and 14 skaters is a good start. A couple of subs for each side would be nice.
As it is right now, if we go 5-on-5, we'd have 2 subs for each side. Say if we got 4 more people to come, we could make that 4 subs for each side?
Personally I think we should plan for 5 subs on each side
I know thats a ton of people for a one hour slot, but not everyone is going to show up. If we have 20 skaters maybe 14 will show and that would be the perfect amount.
If you plan 14 skaters, and only 8 shows up, we are hooped
Sorry I didn't see the new time, is it 2:00 PM on the same day? I'm still in.
Saturday May 12th, 2:00PM.
Updated roster list:
Well, here's the way it stands right now.

I think that's enough to kind of get us started. Anyone else who wants to come and we can just drop the price as the group expands.
So at this stage, let's say we did this...

I'd be more than happy with 10 skaters aside, had a booked session a few weeks ago where after we finished some drills we did shinny with only 7 skaters aside and it wasn't all that fun. Well for some it will be but after about 15-20 minutes everyone got tanked and any resemblance to a structured game of hockey went right out the window.
Also, with my spring schedule now out I have a game in North Van on the same day at 4:30, so I'll probably pack it in at 3:00 on our session and will have to conserve myself a bit.

I've been on the ice for hours at a time before, I still enjoyed myself. I'm sure we'll have fun either way.
Hmmm, if you are expecting this to be good steady hockey ....
You do realize we have abot 18 different levels of skill ...
I'm just heading into this looking to goof off and have fun. I'd pull a Tiger Williams "ride the stick" if I wasn't so certain it would snap in half under my body weight.
managed to find some gear for this. gonna need every inch of padding. haven't skated in about 6 years. goal for the next week is to learn how to put everything on

I don't know if skill is the appropriate word. Skill is the ability to do something well.
Should be interesting with the wide range of players, both in experience and age. I just hope not to look like a pylon when a young skilled guy flies around me. Hopefully, I can dangle a few players myself and set up some of the beginners for tap ins.

Reminds me of when I went to play in a tournament with my cousin once. It was mostly his friends, and I asked what to expect skill wise. He said "we have good hands, but we're all 30, fat and slow".
