The guy that played with us that didn't have a cup was pretty funny at first. He didn't seriously go without a cup in the game did he? I'd die of anticipation of the worst-case Ontario.

Nah, he went and bought one at the shop before we went out hahaha...I'm glad that wasn't me!

Have we gotten a measurement on those pads yet!?

I'm amending your award to "Hardest Shot...with the Worst Luck".

That was such an awesome time! The two teams ended up pretty even, and it was a better pace than I expected. Totally winded haha.

Had a blast! We gotta do this again soon!

Well it became clear that age and treachery win over skill and youth every time.

But i had a good time, thanks all. great job and we are indebted for setting it up.

I think the dark jersey goalie threw his stick when I deked him out of his jockstrap, but kudos on the save.
You had me beat, and I felt like if I dove you would've just waited me out so I decided to throw my stick. It is shinny after all, thought I'd have some fun.

As for Canadian Chris, his aim wasn't really off. A lot of those shots hit a piece of my glove and went wide. But as the game went on, it got a little easier since that's all he went to most of the game I'm not going to forget that diving across glove save though. Tight angle, but that was going in.

Fun game. We need to do it again.

And thanks to Mr. Canucklehead for covering for me on my adventure out of the net, you should try goalie sometime

Oh man, that was hilarious. I knew I could get to the puck first and it was like a "yup...any minute now, the goalie's gonna go back. Any minute. Ye--oh no, he's not going to. Abort! ABORT!!!" And then it was a scramble to cover.

My thinking was more of "Oh, loose puck, I can get it! Ok, they're getting closer...closer. Crap, I'm gonna lose this race! Can't turn back now, hopefully Mr. C takes it." Then you turned away and I somehow messed it up and next thing I knew the guy was skating past me towards the net with the puck, so I threw my stick that time as well to try and give you guys more time to cover for me hahaha.

Yeah, tons of fun guys! We should all 'tag' the pictures with our usernames.

My only regret is that I didn't get to meet everyone. Why did some of you guys leave early?

The post-game beers and Canucks discussion was almost as much fun as the hockey.

And for the record, that's a St. John's Maple Leafs jersey, not a Toronto one. I really need to get an IceCaps one done soon...

Also, it's a Passau chest/arm, best one I've ever worn, and I've pretty much worn them all. It might look big but I feel crazy mobile in it.

Great skate. Thanks again to Mr. C for the organizing.
I'll spot you a beer next time I don't have to run off some quickly afterwards.

I would have been back there faster if I wasn't laughing so hard. Glad to get that off my chest.

Upload is still underway but for now here's what is ready to watch so far:

http://www.youtube.com/user/123GradWest

(Start at the bottom and work your way up to watch in chronological order. It's a total of 45 files, with 35 to 45 being your shootout attempts.)

As I mentioned yesterday this material does include the worst camera work in the history of camera work, but it also has very watchable moments. At least I hope so.

It's all one to three minute bits but covering basically the entire game.

Btw the quality should be decent enough to watch it on full screen.

Hope you enjoy it!

In hindsight I managed to get out of their much quicker than I thought I could, never really timed myself at getting out of my gear before, so I at least could have stayed for the photo. But hopefully next time we're not playing the same day I have a game so I can put a bit more effort into it.

There is a serious problem with the videos - they make me look much slower and lazier than I am. in reality I am a hockey god; the videos are so bad I don't look athletic at all.

I've never actually seen myself play before... my god no wonder why it seems like I'm always moving a bit slower than everyone else, I've never seen such an upright skating style . I need to spread my damn legs out a bit and bend those knees!

Great stuff, McIlwain, thanks! LOL'd when I heard True North holler "THIRD MAN IN!" when y2kcanucks was "challenging" me.

One thing I learned from the video is that I am much slower than I think I am. I knew I was slow, but damn if someone told me I skated like Happy Gilmore I'd take that as a compliment at this point. Definitely need some power-skating lessons.

Thanks for taking some good video, McLlwain!
