absolutely agree! I'd say...at the top end, allow maybe 18 skaters? That way there is ample ice for everyone...you have the ability to play it 5 aside or 4 on 4...either way, should keep either "team" rolling guys pretty regularly and keep everyone from getting too cold (or drunk...) on the bench!

This I can definitely get behind with. I'll even bring steaks.

I enjoy either. There've been beer league games where I've played the full 60 minutes, and games where you have a full bench and take "short hard shifts". Both have their fun.

We can make this pretty fun either way; five or four aside, wrap things up with a shootout to show off our tricks (or lack thereof...)

I've contacted 8-Rinks about reserving the ice slot, I'll let you all know once I've got it confirmed.

Updated list:

Quote:
Mr. Canucklehead
billvanseattle
Reverend Mayhem
Winroba (prefers ball hockey)
Stefan It Up
Canadian Chris
True North
RandV
rye&ginger
Nash
Timmer44
y2kcanucks
jd22 (prefers ball hockey)
lundface
Hank4Hart (goalie)
Ski Powder (goalie)

I think that's enough to kind of get us started. Anyone else who wants to come and we can just drop the price as the group expands.

So at this stage, let's say we did this...

Saturday, May 12th
12:30PM - 1:45PM
Burnaby 8 Rinks
Burnaby, BC
$223.75 + Taxes = Approx. $250.60 / 16 People = $15.66 (round up to $16.00)

(Link to Prices and Times: http://icesports.com/burnaby8rinks/ice-rental.aspx)
That's two goalies and 7 skaters aside (2 subs each if we go 5-on-5). Looking pretty good to me!

Sounds great!

Also another question, is everyone above 19? Every hockey game needs to be capped off with a drink from the Stanley Cup if ya know what I mean

I'm over 19, but I can't drink. I'll have a pop while you lot imbibe, however.

Thanks for organizing this...should be a lot of fun. I'll have to work on my shootout skills. I'm always a pass first guy, so goal scoring is not my forte.

And lunch/beverages after? It would be all kinds of sweet if there was a playoff game (preferably Canuck ) being played that day to take in.

If it worked out like that, that would great.

We should get some name tags or something that we could put on our jerseys that would have our profile names on them that way we wouldn't have to go up to everybody asking who they are.

I can just imagine all of us shouting on the bench...

"Y2KCANUCKS! REVEREND MAYHEM IS OPEN, HE CAN SPLIT BILLVANSEATTLE AND CANADIAN CHRIS TO GO IN ALONE ON HANK4HART!"

People walking by would look something like this;

The Thirsty Penguin bar is upstairs and it has plenty of televisions.

I have a jersey with NASH on the back of it that I can wear.

Actually, on second thought, I'll be Sheriff Shanny for the game. "I'm luongoisdaman, head of the Department of Player Safe-to-tee-off-on-other-players-ty"

"As a result of the fact that the upcoming 5 games are of no importance, we have decided to suspend Mr. Canucklehead for 5 games."

I nominate y2kcanucks as my counsel.

"But how many UNIQUE games is that for?"

I think if we are going to play actual games then we should have at least 8 skaters a side.

I am really stoked for this. Can't wait.

I could be down if this was ball hockey since I can barely skate on ice.

Coming from the states I can bring up beer a lot cheaper ... if I bring a 24 of Heineken or whatever from Costco, I'll sell them 2 for $3 in the dressing room if that sounds good. We did that for 20 years with the group i used to play with at 4 (8) rinks.

Heck I can bring the costco brand ( http://www.epicportions.com/2010/02/04/costco-beer/ ) and sell them for a $1 each.

Same time slot at 8 rinks from 1972 -2003 or so. I played from 1982 - 2001 missing 3 years in the late 80's to do servitude in Winnipeg.
