That felt like a really quick 2nd period. Good effort by the Caps. I think it's a good thing they are playing Philly today. Philly is a quick team and will tune us up for the game against Winnipeg tomorrow. I think we can win the game today and tomorrow.

Philly is taking the middle away from us so that will have to be discussed in the break.

I can't believe how many chances we've had in this game.

That's was we've been wondering. Who knows the rule on this?

I think that penalty shot should have had to be retaken and the goalie should have received a penalty. Philly should have been short handed.

It was a poke check on a penalty shot, he went for the puck and possibly missed. They won't give the goalie a penalty during a penalty shot

CORRECTION: I just looked up that rule. According to 24.4 if a goalie commits a penalty during a PS it's a redo. 2nd violation- misconduct.
Wonder how often they call it though. Never seen it done, gotta figure most penalty type plays are close enough to be overlooked.

if you watch the replay, you'll see that 90 had already fumbled away the puck before he tripped on goalie's stick.

it was a good move, and not unlike 26's signature move, with the dips and shakes. but he lost control of the puck as he moved left for the shot.

Brizz definitely tripped Mojo. Think that should be a penalty or something, the player still had the puck, the play was live, and the goalie missed his pokecheck.

Aucoin and Purrochocinco snakebit tonight, if they were vets those go in.

OV has to put that on net. Completely unacceptable. There is no way to justify not having that on goal. You miss 100% of the shots (on net) you don't take. That's one he needs back.

This game should be 4-1 or 4-0. If the Caps come away with a regulation loss, we know the hockey gods are against us. We can't put together an effort like this and get a "moral victory". Winnepeg is well-rested, and they will feed on an angry team like the Caps if we don't get some points tonight.
GOVECHKIN WORRIED.

Edit: Referring to both OV shots from left point. Just total fail.

watch the replay. the player did not still have the puck. he had already lost control of it.

i can't believe we didn't get a single goal out of all those various chances -- Ovie at start of period off the nice shot-pass from Brouwer from point, and then Aucoin off the post, and then MoJo on the penalty shot, and Green from high slot, and then MP off the post too. argh. X1000.

since Bryz is on top of his game, and is coming out aggressively to challenge shooters, I hope our players will keep looking for that same slap-pass play which Ovie nearly converted at start of 2nd. that's what we could really use here. a freaking tap-in.

game is becoming excruciating to watch, as these chances accumulate without any getting buried.

I wouldn't call that a fumble. The tiniest of bobbles with no chance to recover once his feet were taken out from under him.

Looked like a good poke to me. At full speed, the refs probably saw Bryz stretch out and the puck start rolling. If it's perceived that a player gets the puck before the player there's no trip, aye?
