Both callups well deserved.

Hamilton has been great for the Marlies this year, probably their most consistent player. He's really worked for that.

Kadri has also played really well. I hope he can impress with the Leafs.

This also probably means that we could see Olden and Broll make their pro debut on Saturday.

All the Marlies on twitter are praising this, which is great.

Ben Scrivens‏@scrivens_30

Very happy to hear Ryan Hamilton was called up. He's the leader of our team. PP, PK, on the scoresheet, in the room, on the bike. #doesitall

Matt Caruana‏@KennyCarsewell

Congrats to Ryan Hamilton on the call up, could not have happened to a better guy #welldeserved

So, MacArthur and Frattin are the ones who are injured now?

inb4 a kid says I am laughing at someone getting hurt. I am rather laughing at how good tank is looking.

You think the minor league coach sends up who he thinks is best for the big club? LMFAO!

Here is how it works. For whatever the reason, the coach decides if he needs help at a certain position. He then calls Burke to let him know that he is about to put a call into Dallas. He then calls Eakins and TELLS him which player will be called up. Sometimes a Leaf scout may be involved. In this case, Carlyle had a look at the stat sheet with the Marlies and asks for Hamilton. As for Kadri, I am sure he just wants to see what he has first hand.
I've definitely read before that Burke asked the Marlies' coach for recommendations for recall. That's how I remember Darryl Boyce being chosen for recall last season.

This is really standard info, I'm kind of shocked to be arguing it tbh
You're funny.

Sure, the GM will listen to his coach. But he has the final say.

Your reasoning would also apply to coach making trades...

Shocked, I am shocked, this is pretty standard...

A bit of credibility flew off the window...

I hope Kadri plays with Grabovski or Kessel.

I am more interested in what Hamilton brings tomorrow. He is a leader with Marlies; wondering if he could use some of that with these goofs.

I'm more worried about a career AHLer and a highly touted prospect feeling shunned wanting to impress than I am about Frattin and mediocre MacArthur.... I'm worried for the tank now

Hamilton really deserved a chance. I'd like these two key players of the Marlies team to stay with them. I'm not sure if they've locked up their playoff position yet, but with injuries on the big club, these two get some NHL action.

Burke has stated publicly that all roster movements are up to his coach....

Which means that he will try his best to comply with his coach request...

But the ultimate decision rests with the GM.

Have you seen any coach make a trade?

Of course the GM has final say but having said that was it not this exact situation that started the Don Cherry- Harry Sinden feud. Sinden wanted some prospect called up whereas Cherry wanted the BPA (who wasn't the prospect)

Well we're at the point of the year where the Leafs once again fail to reach the playoffs and now call up the young guys to get a few NHL experience.

I get annoyed with Kadri up and down, I think it hurts his production in the A but ah well. He should get top 6 this time atleast and play with Grabo. Or maybe.. Kessel?

As long as they are not serious, I don't care. I just don't want Kessel hurt so we can say he is a 40 goal scorer (hopefully).

At this rate, we might finish bottom 3
