Yeah, he's done here. You can criticize the Oilers all you want for not giving him a fair shake, but he does seem to display a lot of entitlement/unwillingness to keep his head down and work hard towards earning a top 6 role.
Oilers should package him and send him on his way.
Too bad ... like his creative, skill level and, at times, his dogged puck pursuit.
Here we go again, let's just run the kid out of town. Maybe a lot of people here forget what it's like to be early twenties, not to mention on the ther side of the world away from family and after a bad injury that put him up for a while. I would like to think the Oilers sit down with him and at least listen to his story. I believe it would be better for his develpment to go to OKC but mentally maybe he needs some time to think, refocus and come back next season ready to do what he has to do.
Not very surprised. What I've always detected in Omark quotes and behavior is that he's kind of easily offput by things, lacks much of a thickskin and so bounds between passive-agressive, comply, won't comply type positions.
His fate was sealed a long time ago, he never had much of a chance for a spot in the top 6 even if he played consistently well and his attitude just makes things worse. I always had a big laugh at those who thought that he could fill Hemsky's potential void with no problem.
The fact of the matter is that he's just another small, skilled playmaker and isn't as good as the ones we already have so that's that for Linus as an Oiler.

He does more flips than ihop.
Sounds like upper management potential, right there. Lowe could use a new understudy, no?
At least we didn't trade someone like Smyth to get him. See ya later. 4th rounders don't have much of a shot at making it. Do you think Gagner sends him some flowers for his comment?
I don't see the big deal here. It was blatantly obvious before today that the Oilers and Omark are parting ways soon, and from Omark's POV he's trying to market himself as much as he can to not only other NHL clubs, but to the Euro/Russian teams looking for 12/13 help.
He'll have a much bigger stage to put his best foot forward there.
I never thought I'd see an Oiler that was worse in interviews than Ryan Smyth.
All he had to say was "I have an opportunity to play for my country at the wc's and that's what I am going to do. Who knows if I'll ever get the chance again?"
If I had the choice between playing for Team Canada or OKC I would be laughing so hard I wouldn't be able to answer any questions:
Kelly Hrudey: "Who are you going to play for?"
Oi'll say!: "Haaaahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaa, I'm not laughing hahahhahahahahahaaaaahahahahaaaa at your hahahahahaha hair hahahahahahaaaaaahahahaa mostly hahahahaahahahaaaaa well now I am hahahah ok now I'm laughing at the question hahahahahahahahaaaaahahaha".
As for Omark, the world can watch him play at the wc's against elite players and only a handful of people can see him play against much lower competition in OKC. All pro hockey players have financial decisions to make and this is an easy one. He's not maing the Oilers so he's auditioning for other teams.
Meh never really had a shot here but can't say I'm to upset by it. Wasn't good enough to crack the top 6 and wasn't good enough in his own end to play bottom 6.
On one hand, I want him to do well because I think he's talented and fun to watch. On the other hand, if he does do well, the Oilers look like fools...Hmmm..
LOL @ him expecting to be names to the Swedish worlds team.....a small, slow (mod edit) who couldn't crack the worst team in the league for 3 years.....living off his youtube highlight

I said before the season started that this was Omark's last year in the Oiler organization. Maybe he sees it that way too, which would explain this development.
Somebody kidded about Calgary signing him. I dunno about Feaster but if Sutter were still there I would almost bet on it.
