What gets me is how many times do we have to lose to a team clearly inferior? Last month I come up to see the Devils, and they fall asleep against Tampa Bay. If I wanted to see Marty St Louis get a hat trick I'm staying home, and going up the road to the Forum. They actually have a good home record!
Played like crap against Mac LOSER, and Carolina in December, Kovy scores on himself, and Ward gets credited with the goal
That Tampa Bay game, the Isles game, too many more I can't remember.
I know it's any given game, but it happens too much. Get it together!
By the way I'm happy with the offense tonight, but I felt we gave Reimer too many easy shots that inflated his save percentage at times.
I thought this was a real garbagegame by nj. They even started it like ****. Call out Marty on the goals if you wish, truth is the devils were out to lunch on all of those goals. For all the shots they had, this was way too passive of a game for the most part. Its all about bearing down and getting the job done. I don't know, after a mini rest, against a **** opponent, I just expected a much cleaner game.
I just want to see the team play smart and disciplined hockey. Toronto barely showed up today and walked out with 2 points. Its insane.
^ Yeah, I said this before the game. Everyone was so sure the Devils would win this game (far moreso than most nights) that I felt like everything pointed to the Devils not getting the two points tonight.
That shot total just figures, too. NJ finally gets all the shots on net they should need to crush their opposition, but can't get the first goal and trail 2-0 and 3-1 at times before scrambling back to tie. Then Marty gets lit up in the shootout. /sigh
The Devils are fighting for what exactly? We're pretty much locked into 6th place no matter what we do or don't do. The doesn't *need* to win right now. We have nothing to play for right now.
Right now it's all about working on individual play and getting your good players in to rhythm. Who scored the goals for us? Parise, Henrique, and Josefson, three guys who were slumping and desperately needed some goals. Five goals in five games, then we get three tonight.
You don't want to come roaring into the playoffs, you want to come in on the cusp of a hot streak.
I will say, I have never seen Brodeur get beat clean on a shot like that in a shootout EVER, let alone twice in a row.
Parise looked dominant without Kovalchuk on the same line.
Parise looked good all game, who was on his line had nothing to do with it. However, I am in favour of keeping them apart for next game in order to see if new line combinations will generate more offence.

The funny thing is, if we had won in the shootout, most of these same posters wouldn't be *****ing.
