Man, this thread is old. But I'll add mine anyway. It was back in 91-92 at the Cow Palace, we lost to Vancouver 5-3. I remember the exact score because back in those days 3 goals got free pizza (I believe). I'm pretty sure winning free pizza at the first game I went to as an 7/8 year old guaranteed I would always think this was the best sport. Until they got rid of the free pizza promo
I was so little, I only remember two things about my first game:
1. Screaming "RICCI!" every time he was on the ice.
2. A player on the other team got boarded right in front of me (I was sitting right behind the glass in 102), smearing blood all over the glass. I think that was the moment I decided I liked hockey more than other sports.
Arena Hotel.. Smells nothing but cigs and weed all the time lol ! I stay at motel 6 might be cheaper but it smells more decent but the tvs can be better yeah Arena hotel has flat screen tvs but the smell is unbarable

The one time I stayed at Arena Hotel I didn't get any sleep because it was blazing hot outside and the air conditioner sounded like a lawnmower.
Oh, and my first Sharks game was in '05, a 4-1 win over Calgary. I still cherish my game program with Mike Grier on the cover.

Ah that sucks what time of the year was it do you remember? My guess would be somewhere in March... maybe April because SJ does not get that hot in the winter
my first game was a rangers/sharks game back in 99 maybe 2000. i think the sharks won 2-1 which upset me cause i was obviously cheering for nyr but at the end of the season the rangers missed the playoffs by more then 2 points and im pretty sure the 2 points the sharks picked up were crucial to them making the playoffs.

It was actually for opening night against Phoenix a couple years back, first week of October I think.
