I really want Vigneault back. He was great here considering the garbage rosters he had.

Let's go Gillis, fire him.

The coach choice, I do not care about it for now. We need a GM by mid-May or sonner.

My choice is Bergevin but my intuition tells me Doug Risebrough is under the radar. They did not have to ask the Rangers since Slather is pushing him to us.

What part will we reach before they pick up a GM, and then a coach?

I wanna hear bets!!

I'd love to know what Bergevin has had his fingerprints on so far in his tenure with the Hawks. The trade of Barker for Leddy was a stroke of genius. Whenever you trade a top 3 pick a year removed from a 40 point season, you're on the ball. I think Bergevin was director of pro scouting for them in 07/08, which would suggest he had a hand in the Ladd/Ruutu trade. That trade was also huge for the Hawks Stanley Cup run.

I'd like to see these threads pass the Phoenix threads on the business board.

I did not know about those specifics but there is a sign in the fact he rose very quickly in the management team.

For those hoping for Alain V, looks like it isn't likely he'll be fired.

Well Vancouver has won back-to-back Presidents' Trophies and when I look at this first round loss I don't see a team that quit on their coach. It didn't look as though Vigneault had lost the room. If Daniel Sedin had been in this from start to finish, maybe the result is a little bit different. But full value to the Los Angeles Kings for winning the series, and from the Vancouver Canucks side: I suppose it's possible Vigneault might not be back next year.

There are really three reasons why you get rid of a coach. One is the sense the general manager feels it's time for a change; that the coach has lost the room. The second is you want change for change's sake. There might be an owner, fans or media that says ‘We lost in the first round, we thought we were going to win the Cup, bring us somebody's head.' And the third reason would be if Vigneault senses he's done everything he can and there might be other opportunities he could be interested in – where it's almost a mutual thing – then that's a possibility too.

Mike Gillis will know the temperature of that room better than anybody else, but this doesn't strike me as a 'fire the coach' situation. I'm not saying it won't happen; it just doesn't strike me as a 'fire the coach' situation.

I still take that with a grain of salt. Doesn't deter me much from thinking he could be fired. I mean, not that this means everything, but the Nucks fans sure want his head.

Don't think we'll ever beat the Hossa saga, though.

Yeah...the mob is really out to get him there in Vancouver... pitchforks, torches, the works.

Also Vancouver management would probably be more open firing him as a scapegoat if they knew he had a soft landing lined up with another job, instead of ending up on TV as an analyst to be a constant visible reminder of the decision, and talking about the Canucks' play.

Id take vigneault back. I never thought he was the problem in Vancouver. That team is just too ***** to win a playoff series.

You're just being pessimistic. Not sure how after months of reflection and focus on getting the right men, this is what will happen.

Not so sure I agree with that. At least, that's not the feel here in BC. Mike Gillis will have his press conference tomorrow at 10am. The players will meet the media at 10:30am tomorrow. They said that Vigneault would be later in the week, nothing very specific. It doesn't sound right...

With Vigneault available....my prediction would be:

Brisebois as GM
Vigneault as coach

Guys I'd be shocked to see the Habs hiring would be McGuire and Hartley. I just don't see it. Not saying I agree though. Hartley was won everywhere he went. Even if we'd like to think he was just the right man at the right place....why not see if this wouldn't be the right place?

Personnally, I still wish to see a Bergevin-Roy combo. But wouldn't be against Vigneault or Hartley as coach either. But one thing is sure.....I'd want to get out of the past as much as possible. Which is the reason why I'd choose Bergevin over Brisebois. Easily. The only thing I'm afraid to see if we hire Bergevin is that he brings a friend with him for coach in Denis Savard....

I hope it's Bergevin and not Brisebois... We need an outsider, not someone who's been here before.

Bergevin is a very good friend of Mario Lemieux....

We might get Malkin or Staal or Crosby...
