Yeah, ditto. He seems to have everything including good size. There's so much discussion right now about Gally vs Grigs, but we may not get either of them if we finish 4th. I think Edm. is going to take a centre and not a D. If Toronto finishes ahead of us they are definitely taking a centre. So really that leaves us with Forsberg vs. a D.

Doubt edmonton passes on murray and its hard to believe that we would pass toronto.

you're forgetting the lottery where we could still drop a position even if we finish bottom 3

really pissed that Oilers lost - we need to finish 29th

1st Pick: Yakupov to Columbus, unless...we win the lottery!

We'll be fine as as long as we finish with a top 5 or top 6 pick overall...

Choices for our Habs:
2nd Pick: Galchenyuk (similar to Toews?) AND/OR Forsberg (better/tougher version of Eller?)
3rd Pick: Forsberg
4th Pick: Grigorenko or Murray (Scott Niedermayer) OR Dumba (another Subban?)
5th Pick: Dumba OR Murray or Grigorenko
6th pick: dumba or murray

not so sober right now...so the above may not make sense...sorry but we're not allowed to erase/delete posts anymore (don't understand why?)

Just watched the Sweden-Russia Gold Medal game and realized that Grigorenko was the goat on the OT winner that Zibanejad scored.Forsberg is starting too sound better and better. The Habs can use a LW as well as a center.

The reason I am leaning towards Forsberg is that he could come to Hamilton right away. The Russian prospects must play in the NHL or Junior. If either one of the G's are in our top 2 lines come October, we will be playing for last place again.

I think if grigs gets assigned to hamilton or quebec. You can kiss his butt goodbye. Khl. Galchenyuk maybe not, but grig for sure

The guy is american and does not care about Russia or the KHL for hockey. He only has a russian name.

He's the guy I want now that he has proven that his knee is fine. If he does well physically at the combines, he's the guy I want.

You do know the playing conditions in the KHL right and living conditions in Russia? Except russians and players on the decline unable to find a NHL job go there.

Name one good young player not russian that went there. Just one.

He signed a 2 years contract with Quebec...

Why do people think he'll go back to Russia the minute he does not get what he wants? He decided to come here. He contacted CHL teams by himself over a year ago. He was ready to come in NA at 16 but couldn't play in the CHL at that age. Why would he just change like that in a matter of a year?

I still badly want galchenyuk, we need Edmonton to pass us and budaj in nets for at least half the games hopefully tonight and once more, the last thing I want is that blowhard Burke to get the center he wants. Draft whichever of the two grigs or gal Timmins likes more and **** you burkie

I have Galchenyuk ahead of Grigo for his OVERALL understanding of the game, in all 3 zones. Why there is always a talk of centermen going to the wings in higher levels, I don't see it with Galchenyuk. He is, for me, a pure centerman. Incredible vision. Just my prediction that he'll be a more complete player down the road, but not a complete player that hasn't one GREAT quality. A complete player with tons of great qualities. Compared to a Brendan Gaunce for example. Who could become a complete player....but nothing TOO great down the road, yet still a 1st rounder for sure. But I won't be dissapointed by Grigo. For whoever keeps bringing the lazy factor, I call it BS. First, he is not lazy. Then, it's way more up to the leadership as a management and as the rest of the players to show the way. Having a supposed lazy player on your hands and not being able to develop him is WAY MORE about how leadership soft your team is than the player itself. At least when you talk about a player at that quality.

No matter who we get, chances are they will make the team. Look who they are competing with on the 3rd and 4th line. Competing with players that, if this was before the last expansion, would not be in the nhl.

If a top 3-4 prospect cant make the team as it sits now, timmons best find out where gainey and the goat are hanging out!

Isnt galchenyuks father belerussian? If so i assume he has family there. Do i think galchenyuk would bolt to khl?
No, i do not. Is it possible, yes!

Like stated before, galchenyuk shouldnt have a problem cracking montreals lineup if he is half as good as we think he is.

The Kid choose to play his international hockey for the US over Russia when given the choice. That says a lot.

How was he the goat? He didn't get his pocket picked on the play. He was just coming into the play. Are you blaming him for not anticipating that his teammate would have the puck stolen? He didn't even have the best angle to catch up with Zibanejad. His teammate who made the outlet pass was closer, I believe.

Unless the Habs pick first (doubtful)all I want is a complete player in the end.A player that knows the defensive game as well as the offensive (three zone player)and can play a physical game.Forsberg and Galchenyuk are forwards that play this way.On defence Dumba,Rinehart,Trouba and Ceci are all good players that the Habs could trade down and maybe gain a pick for next season.(possibly a 1st round pick)If Savard is still advising at the draft expect the Habs to choose a defenceman and gain a pick.

I don't know how much stock you can put into the "Russian" argument, but I will go the opposite and say that if Yakupov, Grigorenko and Galchenyuk are taken, I like the idea of drafting a Swede. It's been a while since the Habs have had a Swedish star, and it seems to me that players from Sweden are more consistent (if not high end talent) in their play.

Actually the play had been in the Russian zone for about 30 secs.and Grigorenko hadn't come back into help check he was waiting up ice for a breakout pass.Playing 4 on 4 in OT and having nobody backing up the last defenceman that had the puck isn't smart hockey,in a Gold Medal game none the less. It's just that I would expect a top flight draft choice to play a better game in front of the scouts.
