I'm hoping for at least a 6th Overall pick or higher because having us finishing with the 7th overall pick twice kinda sucks (2008 and 2009)

Top 6 I'm happy with. Anything higher is gravy. Man we really clutched up from 9 games over .500 to a lotto pick!!!! BOOM!!!!!!!

Habs and Ottawa play 3 times in 9 (or 11) days I think. Might as well just squeeze into a baseball like series then.

Can someone post the "best case scenario" thing for tomorrow night? I'm no good at that.

Chances are this won't happen, however what would you all say the odds are of the Oilers passing the Leafs in the overall standings?

Best case scenario for Friday. Although the Leafs are technically 5th, I don't think this should count since we played more games than Minnesota, and the Leafs have a lot more regulation wins so would lose the tie break.

(GR) Points
1. COLUMBUS (8) 53
2. EDMONTON (8) 67
3. MONTRÉAL (8) 69
4. NY ISLANDERS (9) 71
5. MINNESOTA (9) 72
6. TORONTO (7) 72
7. TAMPA BAY (9) 73
8. ANAHEIM (7) 75
9. CAROLINA (7) 77
10. WINNIPEG (8) 78

We're so far out that the first two games don't even matter anymore.

As for the final standings, it seems there's potential for shifts between 2nd to 9th.

Games between those teams:

TOR vs. MTL
TOR vs. NYI
TOR vs. TBL
TOR vs. CAR
EDM vs. ANA (2x)
MTL vs. CAR
MTL vs. TBL
NYI vs. TBL

Edit: Leafs are fifth because Minnesota has a better points percentage. That's the first tiebreaker, followed by ROW.

you're still forgetting about Edmonton winning tomorrow (69 points bcs)

The Leafs could actually be picking 3rd by Sunday night

I'm not overly concerned about the Buffalo, Carolina or Winnipeg games tomorrow, with the way we've been playing I'm reasonably convinced we'll finish worse than all of them. But if we lose while Montreal and Edmonton win, I'm gonna be PSYYYYYYYCHED! That might be overly wishful thinking, but if it happened we'd be 1 point ahead of 3rd, and 3 points ahead of 2nd.

If it makes you feel better, most scouts think Galchenyuk will play on the wing in the NHL.

Hypothetically speaking, if we get to 4th overall and the top 3 picks are Yakupov, Grig and Gally, who do you take with the 4th? I doubt Edmonton takes another forward but if they do, do we take Murray? Thing is, I want a skilled high end forward but at the same time, its BPA.

Thats tough to say. I guess bpa, so Murray. Either that or trade down a couple spots and Take whoever is left of Murray, Forsberg and gals.
