Olver had a great game.
I don't think that's a coincidence, similar with Duchene's injury. People were complaining about him being weak on the puck but I think it has to do with injury in both cases. Duchty before this year and even in the beginning of the year was really solid down low and hard to knock him off the puck. Same with Downie IMO.

I've been hoping to see Barrie the whole season rather than Elliot. Elliot needs another year in the AHL and call up Gaunce or Barrie up next year.

Varly wasn't the dominator today but can't be faulted on the goals. Sure, he could have been better but it would taken something special to save those goals. I kinda wished Sacco would have pulled after the 3rd goal( keep him fresh for next game) but glad he didn't as he gave the avs a chance to tie it.

Barrie doesn't look at of place on the avs. I thought he would bring more on offensive but his defense has been light year better than Elliott hell it's been better than SOB.

Stastny's line was the best by far. They created chances left and right, too bad they got there goal late.

O'Rielly's line started out really bad but were monstrous in the 3rd it was mostly ROR and Landy. Downie has been kinda useless since his injury, unless it's taking a dumb penalty, he hasn't been doing much.

Duchene's line other than that 3rd goal as previously mentioned by ice berg, was mostly Hejduk's fault. I thought they were pretty good defensively but they created next to nothing offensively. Surprised, Duchene got benched for the 3rd goal tbh.

The avs weren't going to run the table a loss was coming, it just sucks it had to be these guys. On to next game where we hope we get EJ and DUchene back.
Go back and watch the entire shift. Duchene had position on the puck twice and got pushed away by Coyotes players. Zero compete.

Honest question, do you have to do that because other boards do/you're supposed to, or do we have the option of "defending" our own forums within reason?

I don't mind other fans coming in and talking a little smack to be honest. It's not like it can do any harm to as big a fanbase as ours.

I mind. I think of our forums as hometurf. I don't come in here to have some adolescent talk smack. If a rival fan wants to come in and have a discussion, fine. But if he's just looking to grind our gears, that's lame.

Re-watched the game. Wow WAY too much pinching in early. I dont know if this is a byproduct of being a young team or what but why SOB decided it was a good idea at that point of the game to join the rush is beyond me. To be perfectly honest im only comfortable with Hunwick and Barrie pinching in deep. I dont like it when SOB and especially WIlson are down below the goal lines. Having said all that im very proud of our guys for making a late push. There was no quit in their game even though those first several penalties were beyond retarded. I dont blame the reffing for costing us the game but damn it could have been alot better. Downie high stick should have been 4 minutes.

Damn Coyotes got so dang lucky with some of their bounces. I'm still feeling this as a depressing loss.

i think johnson being out is really hurting our defense. the last two games you can tell that ej's presence and leadership is missed. our d looks alot different without him in the line up and he needs to come back if we have any shot of making the playoffs.

I agree with you about maybe too much pinching early on however I disagree about SOB's decision to pinch on that rush. He saw a very good opportunity and he went for it. That pass was an easy one to handle. If he handles the pass properly, I bet nobody would be here discussing the rush unless they scored.

SOB does carry the puck too much though and he has to remember that he is way more efficient when he takes care of the defensive zone first.

The only reason I didnt like his decision there was because all 3 of our forwards were deep so say he gets the shot off and a rebound gets kicked out to a Coyote its still going to be an odd man rush the the other way. Perhaps blame the LW for not holding back? It was made worse by him not handing the soft pass from Lando. That play was a comedy of errors. What was Downie doing haha

After thinking back, that Downie play was pretty damn funny , but he takes least of the blame. How O'Brien can't catch a pass that a 2 year old can catch makes me want to punch a baby in the face.

Losing last night really stings. But, hopefully that just means the team got a jolt and kicks *** next game.

We might have to win out now to have any shot at the post-season..... last night really hurts but that's what happen when you don't play a full 60 minute

I dont like to blame the refs either but i mean if we're gonna spend 10-15 minutes every game killing penalties we're obviously gonna have a tough time scoring. It seemed like everytime we picked up a little bit of momentum the refs would call a penalty against us. Its a two way street if theyre gonna call every little thing on us they better call the little things against the other team too. Its frustrating but I mean the only thing we could do is just be more disciplined and keep on playing hard
