"I had room but hit his skate," Balej said. "It was my fault."

I like the fact that Balej blames himself, saying that it was his fault. I think Balej can be a solid leader as well as a goal scorer. Hopefully our leadership by our youth will help our team down the road.

I was likened Balej to Dvorak..

now I'm hoping he does become at least a Dvorak. I don't see the scoring touch in Balej, or at least haven't in about a half-dozen AHL game. The two penalty shots were pitiful. He dances around a lot and tries to get things going, but perhaps he should take some notes from Moore's playbook and cycle and get the puck deep more. I'm just not seeing a scorer. Perhaps I need another several games to make a clearer determination, but I just don't see it.

I am also disappointed with Balej's lack of scoring, but I think the whole team is struggling to score, not just him. I also didn't like him give up the puck on the PP when they were going to get a 2 man advantage, he was in a good position to at least set up a good shot.

It was a confusing play..

he might as well continued as it appeared as though he wasted a good amount of time dancing with the puck, then gave it up.

The 'Pack are having trouble scoring, but Balej's a supposed NHLer, potential 20-25 goal scorer; you'd expect him to lead them out of the slump. Aside from the goals not being scored, I'm just not seeing a goal scorer. He has great breakaway ability, but I still don't see the finishing. Hopefully I just haven't seen enough games, but I've thought this for some time.

You dont need more games to determine because I very much agree with you and noticed the same thing, and also with your comments on Balej are very much how i feel about Jessiman, who I think might be a bit overrated IMO, but im not all down on him either.I think he can be a 25-30 goal man cause he does have the potential to be and the size. Back to Balej who dont seem to be the threat that EVERYONE on this board makes him out to be.I think he will turn out to be a good NHL player but no 30-40 goal scorer.maybe he will have a couple 30 goal seasons. But i mainly see him as a low to mid 20's goal scorer, when in his prime. That i would say is a fair assesment to make, I guess time will only tell. I dont want to dump on him already. There are the stats and people shouldnt forget he had something like 16 points in 16 playoff games for HRTFD last year whcih is awesome.I see alot of flash and dance out of Balej on the ice but he had 2 break aways yesterday against springfield ( one penalty shot and one Shootout shot) and did squat when a guy with talent real pure talent would have done something also , but like i said i cant dump on him as of yet Im sure he will pick up his game.

I think he probably needs highly skilled linemates to produce up to his potential. That is why I would like to see him with guys like Immonen and Prucha.
