Sorry you can't do that. Haven't you heard? There would be no fan base if the Islanders moved to Brooklyn

I really want this to sell out fast!! Let it send a message to Wang that Nassau County is a joke and stay in Brooklyn for a while and see if they can remodel the interior for more hockey or build a new arena in Queens where Shea Stadium used to be.

I think that it will sell out and fairly quickly but I think this may be more about the new arena than the potential new fanbase. There will be tons of people going to this game just for the spectacle of it. The building will be filled with hockey fans from all 3 local teams as well as Nets and city/long island/NJ fans of all kinds hoping to get a first look at the arena out of curiousity. I bought my seats yesterday. I am a STH who could not possibly go to more than 5-8 games a year if they moved there. There has been alot of hype about this game and arena so I have no doubt it will sell out.

If the Nets had played there for a year and the Isles were playing Calgary and filled it then it would send the message you are thinking. So if it is a success a preseason game in 2013 may have more meaning.

That's the first step in the conversion process! On a related note, my uncle used to have season tickets to MSG even though he was an Isles fan. I used to think for years he was a Rangers fan until he told me he just went cos he liked hockey and it was convenient cos he worked nearby.

Now that we are selling the place out, Snow/Wang will mess up the whole thing by lacing up there C squad of Cizikas, Reasoner, Pandolfo and Koskinen as the starting goalie.

Interesting point, I wonder if the powers that be put some pressure on them to use this game to play the regulars more, give the people a good show... Am i correct in recalling that teams often stack the team a bit more for the home games in the preseason so they can put on a better show for the home fans? I wouldnt be surprised if they have a better lineup in this game than the other preseason games to make the experience as good as possible.

Hate to tell you..... you're already on the path to getting hooked.

My die-hard Ranger sister in law goes gaga over Tavares and can't stop raving about their young talent.

I'll bet you this... if this team blossoms w/in the next 3-4 years and move to BKLYN, you'll be a convert. Welcome to Islander country.
