Chicago - Ottawa

To Chicago
C.Neil

To Ottawa
Bickell-(under 600k)
3rd

Bickell hits, has a good shot and value is there but he lacks the tenacity the hawks could really use for its third line.
A line of Stalberg - Bolland - Neil would be difficult to play against.
What would it take?

------------Saad - Toews - Sharp
Carcillo/Beach - Kane - Hossa
--------Stalberg - Bolland - Neil
-------- ---Shaw - Mayers - Kruger
Hayes,Morin,

Chris Neil will be a Senator for life. So I will say the Sens say no.

More than Hawks fans could ever, ever imagine. This won't end well.

He's not untouchable or anything, but he wouldn't be traded unless it was in a package for something huge. He's too important to the Senators organization.

Neils impact really can't be understated. He has more value to me than Foligno, probably Phillips, Gonchar, Greening... pretty much everyone besides Spezza, Michalek, Turris, Karlsson, Cowen and of course Alfie. Bickel and a 1st really doesn't entice me too much, especially because Neil could be a huge factor in getting the Hawks a late pick.

Agree with the responses here. The difference between Bickell and Neil is far, FAR more than a 3rd round pick that likely never sniffs the NHL. Neil is a core guy, and very needed with all the kids here and that are coming in. Getting Neil would take much more than the Hawks would be willing to realistically give.

It would be like the Sens asking for Toews. I'm not saying Neil = Toews at all, only that the amount of overpayment as compared to the player's value that would be required to acquire that player are similar.

He didn't even include a first, he included a third.

Neil won't leave the Sens and we will never accept what they are asking for.

It would be.

Ottawa isn't interested in doing Chicago any favors, we are giving up a decent asset and taking back two medicore ones.

No thanks.

Pretty much this. Neil is a folk hero in Ottawa... fans won't want anything short of a drastic overpayment.

Not even looking at his on-ice performance, Sens management hold Neil in the highest regard, they value him as possibly the most important locker-room guy after Alfie. He practically runs some of the practices. He's a huge part of the team's community marketing efforts.

Neil will be a Senator for life, because there's no way you guys would pay what we'd need in return for him. It probably starts at Hjalmarsson and a high pick. Which, yes, I admit is obviously an overpayment, but that's the point. Ottawa would need an offer it literally could not refuse to move Neil, for both his on-ice AND off-ice impact to the team.

Not reading the thread it would never happen he is a fan favorite in Ottawa and imbedded in our community.

I doubt he'll ever be moved. He'll retire here.

that is basically the best statement to describe Chris Neil's value to the Senators...

it would be the same for us asking you for Kane vs. Michalek...

Honestly, thats probably what it would take for me to trade Neil... if we were basing a package for Kane around him and Mila
