I've never seen goldenrod puke before.

Can we stop saying every shade of yellow or gold is puke, please? It's annoying and false.

I delete 'friends' as they become irrelvant and keep connections that have been vital in my life...not everyone is going to have the travel connections that I have, but damn it, stop blaming the medium for your friend's idiocy.

I don't like when Facebook changes things and makes them less intuitive. Still not really into the timeline idea, and I don't even think I've adopted it myself yet.

I personally like Facebook for the people who post interesting and relevant stuff. My friend posts articles about politics nearly every day, and since I have similar political leanings...I read them every day.

I also enjoy the people who ***** on Facebook because inevitably, people are going to get sick of it, and I have found that when one person turns on someone who *****es and complains constantly...everyone does. Just 2 days ago, a cereal *****er on my Facebook got the complete smackdown from about 25 people. She has since deleted her Facebook.

I read it as cereal (Serial) killer

Which I thought fitted, but now I look again, it doesn't.

cereal

I'm an idiot

I'm not even going to change it because it's hilarious. What makes it even more funny is I was eating cereal while typing it.

That sort of reminds me of the time in 8th grade where a friend and I were in biology and we were going around the class reading, and instead of saying organisms, he was saying orgasms.

My friend lives in Herndon which is very close to Sterling. He said 2 things he hates living in northern VA....traffic and high cost of living.

I went to school in Washington, DC for 3 years and traffic was god-awful especially on Beltway. I don't miss DC at all. Only thing I liked DC is National Memorial Parks (museums).

Yeah, I have already figured the cost of living, especially compared to Pittsburgh, is going to be astronomical. If I got this job, I'd try to factor that into my salary negotiations. I was more so looking for opinions on things to do, aside from making the 45 min drive to DC or the hour 15 min drive into Baltimore. I tend not to have much fun when I know I have a drive ahead of me like that.

Yeesh, gone for a couple days coupled with Pens' losses and this board is totally changed.

I never found Sterling to be too notable from the other small cities in northern VA. I lived in Woodbridge for a couple years when I was working. I'd suggest living in a place that makes it such that you are going against the flow of traffic, you will shave off a lot of time on your commute.

I have a friend whose poetry I really like. She posts some of it on facebook. It takes an extra three clicks to get to it with the timeline thing. Not a big deal, just sort of annoying.

I get pretty much all my news via links on Facebook. I only read news about science and news about sports, though, because the rest of it isn't that interesting.

Maybe he copes by using humor. A lot of people do that to cope with stress.

I always assumed he treated his issue with the old comic stand-by: lots and lots of drugs.

He's joked about girlfriends a ton throughout his career, so I never gave a second thought to it.

It's been a good 8 months since I've smoked a cigar. That's about 7 months too long.

I'm really getting into it. I have been casually smoking them for about 7 years, but I'm finally getting into the whole background of it. Learning about wrappers, binders, fillers, how to properly light one, how to properly taste it, what certain things mean.

I started taking more care in how I'd prepare smoking a cigar, and the way it changed the flavor has been unbelievable. No longer do I get towards the middle and it tastes like I'm just smoking ash. I get good even burns, and can get the ash to about 2 inches long before it falls off.

I'm still trying to learn the details of how to properly taste a cigar. I have been told there's certain ways you can cut it where it completely alters how you taste it. I was talking with my friend's sister's boyfriend when we were at a little get together a few weeks ago, and he's one of those guys who frequents cigar clubs and stuff. He said that this old dude taught him a way to cut a cigar and he said the guy did it for him, and it was a completely mind altering experience.

I'm sort of getting into that stuff now, and potentially looking to buy more expensive sticks here soon.

I was getting really into it too, but the ol' living situation hasn't been kind to it. I used to smoke at my old apartment, but once I got a complaint about it I had to stop or risk getting thrown out and losing my deposit. I can't at my current place either, and the landlord here has been looking for any excuses to kick anyone out (I quickly learned why rent was as cheap as it is). The only option is to smoke outside...and smoking for three hours in a Montana winter isn't really enjoyable, even for the most thick-skinned of us.

I am hoping to find a place in LA that will allow me to smoke, but it isn't exactly highest on my priority list. It's one of those things that I intensely enjoy and helps my writing (I'm firmly in the Hemingway school...I do my best writing with a cigar in my mouth and a glass of whiskey in my hand), but it's not exactly good for my health and when your looking at any way to cut costs a $12 cigar is a good place to start. It was a better habit to have before I started to actually understand the nuances. I never got into the vernacular or anything like that like I have with whiskey and beer, but that was only because I knew doing so would make it harder to avoid.

One of the best nights of my life will forever be the night before I left Denmark. A Danish friend who I only knew because of his odd love of the Pittsburgh Steelers bought me a going away present...a top-of-the-line Cuban cigar he'd bought in Cuba the summer before. I can't even describe how amazing every second of that was. I was in utter disbelief...I couldn't understand how something made on one island could be that different from the same thing made by people on an island 100 miles away could be that different...I always just chalked Cuban cigars' appeal up to their impossibility to get...but, damn it if it didn't blow my mind. The difference between that Cuban and the best cigar I've had from elsewhere is like the difference between Gulden Draak and Bud Light.

I'll probably get back into those soon enough. I've been trying this eat healthier diet and...blech. I've lived off of those for years on end in the past, I doubt it'll take too much effort to get back on them.

I do know the days of me being able to buy a cheap, quality, grass-fed, free-range bison steaks are going to be over very soon.
