I fractured my wrist when I played hockey, and I wore a cast for 4 weeks (my wrist fractured and dislocated), and I was back at playing about 3 weeks after the cast came off. Of course different fractures need different time to heal, but atleast with the Rangers he has a professional team to help his rehab. Crossing my fingers for a speedy recovery.
He suffered a fractured wrist at The Whales second PO game. Mid to late april? And was still in pain come this years training camp.
Could be less serious this time tough.

Yes, but it didnīt effect his play in any way, that was his own words.
he was on his way to likely a one way contract, now I see he'll only get offered a two way contract with about the same pay as now...
I have always thought he would get a new two way contract, as the Rangers have the upper hand when he is a RFA. I do not think any other team will give an offers sheet to Zuccarello.
But if the Rangers in fact have in mind to offer him a one way contract, how does this injury affect this decision, as long as the prognosis are good? A fractured wrist is not an uncommon injury in sports, and my guess most of the players suffered from it come back from it.
6-8 weeks are IMO not too bad. I feared longer than that. Question is, will Torts put him back on the team. We are talking around the end of april, beginning of may. Chances are good that the Rangers ar still in the cup, and if lucky he might be back for the Conference semi finals actually....
What a fascinating thread. One could start believeing that his career is over when reading it.
As a person that played the game and had a wrist injury I think Zooks will be back playing for sure come next season. It may take some time for his wrist to be 100% but my guestimate is it will be back to 95% within 1-3 months depending on what type of wrist injury occurred. I did not have surgery. Just a removable cast with metal support.
Really sucks for Mats and the team. He was a serviceable callup and the PP looked much better with him. He also started to backcheck and looked good out there. I hope he recovers well and fast.
I hope this is not the end of Zuccarello at the Rangers. He was really a good part of the team with his passing skills. I hope he gets a chance to recover fast and be part of the play-offs. He deserves it.
Just saw the video again, and Ive really got to give it to Mats.
First he blocks the shot and breaks his wrist. Then he goes straight to the corner, wins a race for the puck and manages make a one handed pass to Boyle to get it out of the zone before he gets off the rink. Balls!

Thats great and all, and I feel bad for what happened to him...but someone needs to explain to me why he was over there in the first place. Absurdly out of posiiton.

This is a screen shot of right before he blocks the shot. As you can see, AA and Boyle are out on the D, so Zucc is in the center position.
What does his agent have to gain by lying in this situation?
Nothing I guess, but in the past he has been talking out of his ass. I do not trust anything that guy says. For an agent he is amazingly unprofessional and tacktless
Like I said in the other thread: At least he got to show that he has upped his game. If he is done as a Ranger, maybe at least someone else noticed. Get well soon, Mats!

Again, what make people think that the Rangers donīt want any more him because of this injury??
He will get a raise by minimum 10% (which is the minimum qualifying offer)
As of now, his qualifying offer would be a 2-way contract. I would be shocked if the Rangers did NOT qualify him; his recent sample has probably earned him at least one more look.

Since he makes more than $660k and less than $1m, his minimum qualifier is a 5% raise, not 10%.
You gotta feel for the guy. I was still skeptical of his staying power, but he definitely earned the right to stick with the team for now. He'll be back next year.
