Kind of off topic, but why hasn't the team tried a different PP strategy? We seem to be either shooting from the point, or looking to Alfie for the one-timer.
One of my favourite set-ups of all time was with Spezza behind the net, Alfie on the point, and Heatley parked out front of the net.
Alfredsson feeds Spezza, Spezza creeps out from behind the net and feeds Heatley cross crease, CHEESED!
Okay. I just took my super soaker and blackmailed the penguins mascot to get their team to lose tonight or else I was going to make his life a miserable hell. Easy win tonight.
I think we can win tonight, this game doesn't mean much to the Pens.
Well they could get the Presidents trophy for all that is worth, I would rest my top guys if I was Pitt, no sense in risking an injury. As for Carkner being in, watch how Gilroy will still be blamed for this loss.
Well every time this season when I start to doubt this team they pull something out of their @$$e$. So hopefully they do it again tonight 4-3 o.t win coming up.
We've averaged less than 2 goals per game since the 7-goal game vs Tampa. We've scored a total of 6 goals over our last 5 games. Bishop has not been the reason we've lost ANY games over our slump.
... unless we're starting Bishop on our 2nd line. In which case yes, I'm panicking.
Andy should be starting and would have started at any other point in the season after that rough outing last night.
Rotating goalies when nobody's scoring is what teams seem to do when they're panicking.
If we win this I see us bouncing back and finishing off the season strong and facing Florida in the first round with Bishop as our starter for the playoffs.

/wishful thinking
Stop jinxing us!! Lets not talk about the playoffs until we make it.
Also, a HUGE test for Karlsson-Kuba pairing against the Malkin line. I have faith in Phillips against Crosby... He's always done a great job against him in the regular season atleast.

Oh boy last nights officiating was bad enough but it'll be worse with Corsby in the building. expect a 50-60 minute PK for the Sens tonight. I don't think I'm gonna bother watching this one. The Ticker can't take it.
Despite Maclean's great rookie season, I think he's starting to get exposed. We have absolutely no answer for teams clogging up the neutral zone and when a team comes out as flat as they did last night, the coach has to be questioned. He might lose the Adams in the next couple weeks, his competition is too strong. This is valuable learning experience for him.
It is not Gilroy's fault he is playing 19 mins a night ever since being traded to Ottawa.
If he was a 6th guy, he could be of use, or maybe not so much but still a lot better than him playing sometimes 1st unit PP and a lot of 5 on 5 key situations.
