I think its the system.. Pittsburgh's system is very active with its D-men jumping into the play. They tend to get a lot of points.

Meanwhile we have the 28th ranked PP and our D-men are almost non-existant for scoring. I'm sure the injury early into the season didn't help, but he sucked then too. I do think his game better suits playing with a stay at home D-man. The short lived Goose-Fistric pairing was nice, though they both play the same side.

I think its mostly the PP though. He'd have an extra 5-10 points if we had a solid PP.

Yeah, that's true there, too.

Like I've said before, it's his job to make the PP good, or at least average, and he's not doing it. And therefore not reaping the rewards. I thought he could replace Richards in that regard and he's proven me wrong.

i agree with this to some extent but i think it may have more to do with the coaching than goose

It's him too. These guys are NHLers. There's only so much coaching that goes into the PP. Goligoski looks like he wants to blend into the advertising on the boards half the time. He should be acting like the focal point, he should be the most assertive guy out there, the play should be running through him, he should be making things happen.

Hell, his biggest contribution lately is coming as a decoy in the middle of the ice...

It's not that simple, I don't think. They aren't coaching around the fact that every team plays a very tight point game against us, and also happens to be able to beat the crap out of our forwards down low. We've seen a lot of picks at the blue line over the past couple years.

I think it is pretty clear that ribeiro is in charge of the power play and is probably coaching it.... the goose down in to the slot play is probably the stupidest thing i have ever seen it is a huge waste of his talents

Yep, you could see the delay between when Comeau felt the stick and when he went flying.
