Ok since the MLB has no cap here is how we will do it
Every team gets $150M to spend a season and it goes up by $50M a season
This money is just for new players and signings your teams current cap hit means nothing
Sorry for all the questions, but like I said, I've never done one of these. With implications for seasons after this one, this would be a keeper league? How long can you sign free agents to?

No once the draft is done there is no more drafts the draft is just so the players on other teams don't all go to UFA and start a huge bidding war

Max contract is 5 years
What I mean is that you said the cap will go up by $50 million a season, implying future seasons. And if the contracts can be up to 5 years then it must be a keeper league otherwise it would be 1 year max contracts, no?

It's like real life you keep your players every season unless you trade them or don't sign them and stuff like that

So this year, we can spend up to $150 million on FA. Every year after that we can spend an additional $50 million on FA regardless of our cap situation? Cap would only apply to free agents I assume.

No if your over the cap you get no extra money I forge to add that
Ok just to clear this up
With the money thing you get 150M a season for UFA but that money is for the whole contract
Example: I sign Roy Oswalt to a 5 year 150M contract the 150 is all use up not just the 30M cap hit and if you don't spend all 150M you don't get to save it so you get 300M you get 150M each offseason and an extra 50M each offseason
