Courtnall with an unbelievably dumb penalty. Probably cost BU the season.
Maybe but BU has been outplayed from the start IMHO.

Same story everytime I watch BU, they give up a goal or a lead and it's a parade to the box. Gotta keep those emotions in check, they have the talent.

Golden Gophers now up 5-3 with 11 minutes left in the game.
Doesn't look like this is going to end well for BU.

sorry folks. Even though I'm a native Bostonian, I am a Golden Gopher fan when it comes to college hockey.
Congrats to BU for making the NCAAs, despite the loss of 2 offensive stars in December. That 5 minute/game misconduct by Courtnall turned the game.
Go Gophers!

This. Even though they did eventually settle down, from the start Minnesota looked better and I was never confident that BU would win.
Sets up a UND/UM rematch. You wanna see two teams that really hate each other? This is gonna be an awesome, physical game.

Maine goes up 2-0 on an odd play....
UMO guy takes the puck around the back of the net. Minnesota-Duluth player chases him behind the net and in doing so, completely takes the net off the moorings (wipes it right the heck out)
Well - of course the UMO guy had possession the whole time, he starts breaking it out of the zone... ALL of the Minn-Duluth players stop skating...
UMO ends up with a breakaway and a goal.
Refs never blew the whistle (which is - of course the correct call, as Maine never gave up posession)
And just now - Minnesota-Duluth scores a PP goal to bring it to 2-1

umm, yeah. when they start throwing punches in the handshake line, there's bad blood. Gopher & Sioux fans hate each other too. Gonna be fun tomorrow.

small world. I fondly remember watching every Bruins game in the dorm lounge. It was even more fun when we had the one Nordiques fan to abuse a couple times a year. and a damned Devils fan lived in the room above me my junior/senior year. He couldn't get Devs games up in the 'ville, so he'd bang his stick on the floor in protest everytime the B's scored.
ah, the memories.
oh wait- the B's game just started.
