Which players are untradeable?

Just wondering which players do you think deserve to be a part of the future, and are a part of the core of the Jets going forwards to be built around?

Or is everyone on the table at this point?

To me, Kane and Bogo are not tradeable

Anyone else could be had for the right price IMO

To me, the list of untouchables is higher than most will want to agree on.

My untouchable list:
Byfuglien, Kane, Bogosian, Pavelec, Wheeler

Byfuglien: one-of-a-kind player, can't replace what he brings to the game
Kane: young upcoming star
Bogosian: young corner-stone defenseman
Pavelec: young upcoming star goaltender
Wheeler: seems to have found a home here, no hurry to change that

I'm not a big believer in making a ton of trades. I believe those 5 guys are pieces that we need to keep and build around in order to build chemistry and a culture here. All 5 of them bring unique, individual traits to the team that we likely wouldn't get back from the return we got in a trade.

I just wouldn't see the purpose to trading any of these 5 guys.

I'll admit I was a afraid of backlash, but I'd probably put buff in my nearly untouchables.

I agree with your post 100%, and I think these are the guys (with the addition of burmi) that are going to be our "core"

I'd trade Bogo before Enstrom.

My untradeables for atleast another year anyway....

Kane (potential 35+ goals)
Wheeler (morphing into the whole package)
Ladd (it would disrupt the team too much to trade your leader - plus he's good for 25)
Burmi (could end up somewhere between Datsyuk + Grabovski)
Buff (I want to see him 100% healthy and with more time under Charlie)
Bogo (not a chance - this guy will become a stud all-around D-man)
Stuart (a perfect bottom pairing D-man)
Thorburn (a tough 4th line "sniper" that can kill penalties are in short supply)
Pavs (our answer to Kiprusoff)

Bogosian and pavalec.

Burmistrov and wheeler nearly.

Kane is a should touchable. He's a valuable commodity that could return more than his long term and immediate worth.

Kane- Game changing potential.
Bogo- Shut down d-man for years to come, sky is the limit.
Pavs- I just don't see us being able to replace him in the near future.

I don't think any player in any sport is untradeable. If Philly offered up Giroux for any of the players above would anyone say no?

Is the real question what is the teams "core"? Or is the question who are the players that shouldn't be traded because their value is higher to the Jets then what they could receive in a trade? Both questions yield different lists IMO.

Yup, exactly.

With this in mind, I'd consider the "core" to be Pavelec, Kane, Wheeler, Bogo and Stuart.

Wow, I feel like a minority here. I would absolutely, positively trade Evander Kane next year. I don't like his one dimensional game and think that while he has tremendous skill, teams will learn to figure him out. I also believe that despite his newly formed, cleaner public image, he'll bolt for the bright lights of a big city the second he has a chance.

My only untouchable is Bogosian. Close in my eyes are Buff and Wheeler.

You're super not alone. I know a ton of people, myself included, who agree. It's just not a popular opinion so we keep it to ourselves.

It's not a knock on him and has nothing to do with any of the old personal stuff, I just don't know if I think he's the best fit for what we want to build here. And I wonder if an eventual trade would be in the best interests of player and team.

To me, the core or "untouchables" or whatever you want to call 'em are Bogosian, Pavelec, Wheeler, Ladd and Byfuglien, with an honourable mention to Burmistrov. Which is a really solid core of young players to build around.

I know he's probably our strongest trade chip and someone who many seem to see as 'expendable' but I'm still surprised by the lack of love for Enstrom. Plays big minutes and in all situations, it would hurt this team a lot to trade him.

Well thank **** you aren't Kevin Chevaldayoff. Bogosian is younger, has far more potential, is already better than Enstrom and he's not a year away from free agency. It would be utter stupidity to trade Bogosian before Enstrom.
