This game was an awesome game to watch, and despite not nearly having the talent of Minnesota or Minnesota Duluth, they played BC closer than any team has played them throughout this tournament.
Kreider was FLYING that game, and Parker Milner was tested unlike I've seen him tested since the games against Maine in the regular season. I was very happy with everyone on that team. Wish Chris could have put one in the net, but I'm happy with it. Calgary's got a good player in Gaudreau on their hands, and Brian Dumoulin looked awesome tonight.
While BC had their celebratory pile up at the end of the game behind the net, I pictured Jeff Gorton down there in the front row pushing a pen & contract through one of the media camera holes in the glass, hahah.
I need someone like RB to help me out here, not someone who doesn't know **** about what they're saying.
What are the odds that he signs TONIGHT? Is it worth staying up for or will he most likely sign tomorrow afternoon?
I'd say low. I know Gorton is in Tampa to discuss a contract if the situation arises (ie. Kreider wants to discuss a contract) but by all accounts the Rangers are a first-class organization...seems more likely they'll let him enjoy the night celebrating with his team rather than putting the pressure on him to sign immediately.
I'd suspect they let him do him tonight, work on it tomorrow, and announce it Monday.
Though I have no inside knowledge about the situation, just saying my opinion.
