According to Sources, Chris Kreider is very close to signing with the New York Rangers. Sorry, last one had a spelling error.

He certainly has tools, but Cherry shattered Bure records in the KHL. WHat records has Kreider got?
I believe he's second all time in goals for team USA at the U-20 WJC in only two tournaments.

He's got two NCAA Titles (lead this year's team in goals), WJC Gold & Bronze (lead both teams in goals), three Hockey East Titles, Three Beanpot Titles, Tournament MVPs.

Cherepanov was a phenomenal talent, Kreider is a winner.

I guess this makes today officially everyone's last chance to have a paranoid freakout about Kreider secretly conspiring to become a Bruin. What will everyone do with their expired tin-foil hats?

Well he signed an ELC during the summer, but that damn bandwagonner better score goals against Pittsburgh when he's in the NHL.

Woo get this kid signed and straight to practice!!

I'm really trying to temper my expectations, but it's really hard to given how all hockey analysts were saying all year is how he is a man playing with boys and could jump into an NHL lineup right away.

I mean, if a shrimp like RNH can jump right into the NHL at 18, why not Kreider? Granted RNH is supremely talented, but Kreider has NHL size, world class speed, and is not afraid to go into the dirty areas to score goals. He fits right into Torts' system.

He's played at the World Championships the past 2 summers, so it's not like he hasn't had any exposure to professional hockey. Honestly, can he be any worse than freakin Mitchell?

I'm already beating them to the punch when Luke Adam scores with an "Up n' Adam"

In any event, on a final Kreider note, if we're going to burn a year on his ELC it'd probly be best for him to see the ice. Dreadful waste otherwise.

holy crap if this kid jumps right into the lineup. Mitchell has to sit

although I imagine he practices a bunch and they only use him if they feel he looks good

Absolutely not. I have to agree with Fitzy on this one. At this point if you're going to burn a year off his ELC he better see the ice right away. Doesn't make sense otherwise.

More BC defections

Quote:
Looks like Patch Alber and Kevin Hayes could be leaving to sign contracts in addition to Kreider and Dumoulin. More coming soon.

The Heights is the BC student paper.

Hayes is a Hawks #1 pick from 2010. He is a sophomore.

Alber is a junior and a free agent.

I'm sure they talked to Torts to see if he'd play him before they would burn a year off of his ELC.
