But Hawgood was smaller in an era when it was harder on the little guys.
Hawgie's production was also off-the-charts. Krug not on that level, but certainly a similar player in style and substance.
Got to meet and interview Greg Hawgood at Atlanta camp in 2004- he was hobbling around, his body essentially broken from years of the grind and wear + tear but was still trying. Didn't make the cut, but enjoyed hearing some of his recollections of his Bruins days.

I'm 5'7" straight up (the Army measures my height 2x a year). Hawgie was at absolute best as tall as I was, but looked a tad shorter. 5'6" about right IMO
Just saw that. Seems kinda crazy to get called straight to the B's mid season from college.
It used to be pretty commonplace to bring in college players to the big club late in the year. Bruins did it with Bryan Smolinski and John Gruden off the top of my head...
Will be interesting to see if CJ has use for him, or if they just keep him around the team but don't play him like Sens did with Bobby Butler.

But what does this mean for Joe Corvo? Zanon is starting to improve so might bet is they just want him in the mix.

It would have been part of the negotiations to sign him as a UFA. Promise to dress him in at least one game to burn a year of the ELC now.
This is why I called BS on people saying they traded Alexandrov for Trotman's contract. Trotman won't count against the contract limit playing on an ATO the rest of the year with ELC not counting until next year. I theorized the second they traded Yuri that they had a deal in mind for an NCAA UFA that they were planning to dress this year and that is why they needed the room.
When have we ever created a highlight package for a guy who just signed the day of ? Very strange, maybe he plays in a couple of games here before the season ends

I don't think Cross, Kampfer, Bartkowski, Cohen or Warsofsky got a montage.
Sounds like a name that was around during the stone age. My name Krug, I score goal. I wonder who they'll sit to play him, probably if someone needs rest Krug will play. I hope he turns into something good, he'd make a badass jersey
The two kids that signed a couple days ago didn't get a montage. They didn't send them right to the bruins either. I'm excited to see him play.
Do you see them playing a guy out of college when they have 7 healthy NHL D and Corvo when they are still battling for playoff positioning? I don't. Maybe they are sending him to the Bruins as an incentive to give him a big pay check for signing with them? I don't know, but I can't see him getting into the lineup until may the last couple games.
