good move by Boston. I am sure if he will get into a couple of games before season end and if Providence goes to the playoffs he will go help them out
The last couple of weeks we've added a defenceman and goalie to our organization depth and signed a couple of forwards who graduated from college. Nice to see Mr. Chiarelli continues to build this team. Great job
He will not be elegible to play in the playoffs, it is past the March 6th Clear day roster.
Seems like a nice move after Alexandrov departed. Good use of the slot. As many have said, PROV could def use the help. As for Boston, I would think we would want to get Mottau any time available down the stretch. I would think they don't want to have to go to Corvo in a pinch. Mottau = #7, Corvo = #8. It would be good to get our playoff injury defenseman some time.
Never seen him play but sounds like a very worthy risk if he does in fact skate as well as advertised and have the other skills as well. Certainly seems like they really wanted and targeted him.
Tough to make if lacking size and speed, see hamil, zach. But great skating ability, good character, and overall skill can make smallish stature non-factor.
Would seem to be a kid who can use a year plus in AHL to grow into pro game, bruins hopefully will find themselves with a real asset down the road and emergency depth for now.
I know I already posted to this thread twice, but I will say I remember Juneau, Donato and especially, Smolinski turning pro in similar circumstances but I wondered if the same rules applied to Krug. Still don't think he can crack our defense this year but this is the first time I remember Chia signing a college player and letting him go directly to Boston, shades of Sinden
Looking forward to seeing him play but the his name recalls nightmares I had after watching Wes Craven's 1972 horror film Last House On The Left. The villain's name was Krug and he carves it into the chest of his young victim. Horrific scene that stayed with me for years. Oh well, if it makes us a better team, it will be worth the cost of therapy.

I remember every time I went to the Drive In that movie was playing- very creepy movie and to anyone who ever saw it, there are a couple of leasons there...btw, I don't recollect that scene....but I'll take your word on it- thought it was about something else
He wasn't a prospect though. He was a free agent. We didn't own his rights
Still doesn't matter. The AHL Clear Day roster rule is a suggestion at this point. The only thing it does is prevent trades and loans between AHL teams. Even going strictly by the book (which no one does), Matt Bartkowski is out for the season......Providence could simply slide Krug into that spot if they wanted to.
PBruins once had a ten year minor league veteran in Jeff Daw called up from the UHL added to the roster halfway through the playoffs because of an injury, even with plenty of healthy bodies scratched.
Seems like a nice, level headed kid. Standing next to Chara (6'9" : 5'9") he seems alot shorter than the 12" difference that
is claimed. He looked (from the clip anyway) that he's a good 16" shorter...but if he can play smart, aggresive, fast hockey he belongs here over Corvo at least.
Claude said there's a chance we see him in the lineup before the playoffs. My guess is after we clinch and he decides to give some of the D some rest
I was just about to come in here and post this. Chara, Seidenberg and maybe Ference will get a game or two off and they'll throw in Corvo, Mottau and Krug.
Something tells me it's going to take the last game of the season to clinch the division so I wonder if they sit guys at all
Also, don't get me wrong because I want to see Krug play, but isn't it weird they'd put him in over guys in providence that have played all season in the pros? Maybe they are like, really high, on this kid
