If the Sharks decided to shake up their team,go thru a mini rebuild, would your gm likely agree to something like Murray to LI, for the Isles 2nd + Rhett Rakhshani ?
Murray is a ufa next July.
Rakhshani is a skilled, but small rw.He looked good in a brief call up this season. The isles 2nd looks like it'll be somewhere bewteen 32-38.

Sure, even if the Sharks make the playoffs, I can see Murray being dealt, especially if we sign Brad Stuart.
I'd do this deal simply based around the 2nd + OK fwd prospect.

I agree. Murray is just to slow in today's NHL, and provides 0 offense. with the development of Braun this year we don't need him. The only thing that bothers me about it is that the Sharks are the lowest hitting team in the league, and loosing Murray would just make them worse.

Stuart's no slouch in the hitting department and for whatever reason (age, increasing slowness, or coaching) Murray isn't much of a hitter this season. On the other hand, Stuart is a legit top 4 dman and much faster than Murray so I'd rather have him than Murray. You can see teams targeting Murray's side on dump ins with a faster forward. Murray just doesn't have much initial acceleration and that's what teams are picking on.

Maybe DW can agree to some bonuses for our players. An extra million if player Y reaches X number of hits next year?
Paul Gaustad got a 1st rounder, Murray is a legit NHL top 4 defenseman on most teams. Just because someone's having a bit of a down year doesn't mean they should be traded for scraps. I'd expect at least a 1st for Murray, AT LEAST.
