Leaf draft game plan; get one of Grigorenko, Galchenyuk or Faksa up the middle. With 2nd pick, take big Tom Wilson of Plymouth. Away u go.

I would like to know how Cox came to these conclusions.

Everyone and their grandmother knows we need a centre, and that if Tom Wilson is there when we pick in the second no doubt Burke would jump all over it. However I think he's just stating what he thinks we need rather than what he's heard from a source of some sort.

Has anyone here actually watched Faksa? Is there a huge drop off in talent between those three?

Just read this article about him and he sounds promising

Pretty excited for this draft

Gee I never would have guessed that I thought we would want murray or Dumba over any forward.

The Leafs are currently the 6th worst team in the NHL.

Amazing speculation there. Leafs going for any of the top centers in the draft .

I read somewhere Wilson was a projected 1st rounder, we'll need horseshoes to get him in the 2nd rd.

Same. I'm happy to hear this. But It means nothing if Burke didn't say it.

The team is playing inspired hockey now. I see them getting 10 points out of the remaining 12 available. That should allow them to leapfrog 4 teams in the standings. Should give them a great boost going into next season with their new winning culture.

I'm calling pure speculation here, Leafs scouts themselves probably aren't even decided, and if they were they wouldn't tell Cox. Eklund 2.0 IMO.

Burke will probably say that he is going to get Yakupov. Just like he said with Tavares.

Didn't Cox also write an article last year around this time that the Leafs were interested in drafting Stuart Percy? I seem to recall an article posted on the Leafs board about it.

Information such as this would not leak out to the public anyways so it's pure BS on Cox's behalf. Burke would not make it public who he's looking at so that other teams know who we are targeting.

Thanks for coming out Cox!

Good read and sounds like a player the Leafs could use.

My 2nd round favorites are:

Jarrod Maidens, Henrik Samuelsson, Thomas Wilson, Emil Lundberg, Hampus Lindholm, Tanner Pearson, Oscar Dansk, Nikita Gusev and maybe Martin Frk or Andrea Vasilevski.

More likely came to the conlusion that Leafs have need for center: draft center prospects, need big skilled players: draft Wilson.
