It's not uncommon for word to get out on who you are drafting. Washington was tied to Backstrom for a while is a good example. The Seen Stamkos is just an obvious example. It's why the Leafs traded up for Biggs and Olden.

Tough to say the Percy news made any difference given the Leafs didn't need to move up in order to grab him.

Leafs have what 6 games left? What are we saying if we want to draft 5th overall? Get like 4 points of out those? Probably wont happen

I think the most intriguing team will be Edmonton. Will they draft another forward or a defensemen.

I hope this happens :

It was also well know that the leafs were to draft peumpel, rattie and strome a month in advance. I think they were just preparing for every situation.

Well, this did motivate me to check out Faksa. Intriguing combination of size, skill and smarts.

Galchenyuk was projected to go anywhere from 7-17th before his face-off injury. I think that we can win all 6 of our remaining games and still have him on the board when we draft...Gaunce.

He was pretty much a Red Wing draftee until Thommie Bergman stole Håkan Anderssons'
late round gem, now we have to wait and see what Andersson had seen in that akward, man sized, bambi kid. I think this kid will be a good NHL player in the future. HA's scouting allows us to believe this.

The bottom picks look like they are going to shake out:

Columbus
Edmonton
Montreal

NYI
Minni

Toronto
TBL
Carolina
Anaheim
In pretty much any order...

I think Edmonton, Islanders, Tampa, Anaheim are looking at defense first.

toronto will want one of the top 4 forwards Yak, Grigerenko, Forsberg, Galchenyuk.

Basically the key is getting below carolina.

Won't mind either of those 3.

Faksa at worst will be a second line winger. If all goes well he's a C on the top 2 lines.

For the 2nd round I'm very intrigued with Andreas Athanasiou and Jake McCabe.

Are you sure we want a McCabe again as a leaf.

Is this the year leafs are in 3rd position, only to have team 7 win the lottery and force us down one spot to 4th?

I wonder when that will happen...it's due.

Face-off injury?
His skate got caught up in a rut next to the Spits net, and he tore his ACL.

Either way, i can't imagine passing on him if he were there.

Oh ya, I'm certain the Leafs brass are letting Cox in on their plans. What a joke.

Gaunce, or Faska would both be good picks. Either one could be guys that could come in next year and play on the third line.

It'd be cool if we picked Gaunce and started with:

Lupol-Bozak-Kessel
Frattin-Grabo-Kadri
Kuli-Gaunce-Connolly
Rosehill-Steckel-Brown

I think he ment the recent injury. Before he tore his ACL he was projected top 2 IIRC

Tom Wilson in the second round would be amazing...
Huge toronto kid who put up respectable stats as a 17yr old on deep team..l would be so thrilled to have Devane, Biggs, and Wilson in our system...

lol at this thread.

Burke wanted to draft Tavares a few years ago as well. How'd that work out again?
