Claude Giroux is so badass he has an adjusted stat named after himself.

There were (and still are) those who ridicule statistics like Fenwick and Corsi. I truly believe bandwagon cole canes is just ahead of his time, and that CGA points will become an important part of the statistical analysis available to hockey fans.

I just finished money balls and everybody else is like the room full of scouts while BCG explains his stats. Eric Staal flat out gets on the base. His CGA is through the ceilings.

So why does Staal have a better CGA?

I don't believe you.

BCC has a Ph.D. in statistics from M.I.T. and is the current head professor at Oxford. What exactly are your credentials?

Eric Staal is the Canadian God of CGA, much like Youkilis is the Greek God of Walks in Money Balls.

Because Claude is taking it easy this season. It's not easy being Giroux.

Yeah, If Giroux is soooo good then how come Staal destroys Giroux in CGA points; A stat that Claude Giroux invented.

Basically...

Eric Staal is better at being Claude Giroux than Claude Giroux himself.

So in a future movie entitled "Looniepuck", which will be inspired by BCC's revolutionary use of statistics in hockey, who will play Giroux, Staal, and BCC? I'm thinking Sean Aston for Giroux. Not sure of the others.

Staal - Sidney Crosby
Me - Megan Fox

I'll refuse to grant the rights to my name and likeness, so they'll recast me as a woman and turn it into a romantic comedy.

Seann William Scott should play Staal. Sean Aston for Giroux. Jim Rutherford will also need cast.

But BCC? It might be best to ask him.

I can't wait to see the scene where BCC actually gets to pitch his brilliant idea to Karmanos and Rutherford over burgers from Cook Out.

Eric Staal is shockingly bad without the puck and defensively compared to how he used to be like. He was a true no1 centre, now he still puts up points but he's not a no1 centre anymore. I disagree completely with this, Giroux or whoever can score 10 less pts than Staal hypothetically but I'd go with them over Staal.

Same thoughts on this thread...holy crap, what the hell is this?

Even now, I'd still rather have Jordan over Eric. At least Jordan is a complete player that isn't utterly useless without the puck. Eric seems to be getting progressively worse away from the puck and is inching closer to Lecavalier territory for bad contract status. If not already.

Clearly Staal > Giroux
I agree with this but it's in the past and Staal isn't as good as he was when he won the cup or even when he won gold. Giroux's the better player now.

By this logic, you can argue that Ryan Getzlaf (also a cup winner and gold medal winner) is better than Giroux but clearly he's not (though I'd take him over Staal).

I've been saying this for years now. It all boils down to Staal's intangibles. In fact, I wouldn't go with Giroux without some sort of guarantee that he indeed scores 10 or more points less than Staal in a given season.

It's time to face facts. We need a #1 Center in Carolina who actually scores fewer points.

I was just thinking about this when painting a brandon sutter mural in my guest bedroom the other night. Why do we pay Eric Staal based only upon his CGA? He's not an five hundred foot player.

What intangibles? His inconsistent effort in so many games? The way they've missed the playoffs twice in a row now with him as C?

Canadian farm boy wearing a C who's won in the past must mean automatic intangibles.
