Eric Staal, if he was on the Flyers he would have 130+ points. Giroux on Carolina only puts up 40-something

Yeah you're right, clearly Giroux is lifted by the superstar skills of Scott Hartnell and a fresh young Jaromir Jagr.

Giroux over Staal ceteris paribus.

Giroux at $3.75M vs. Staal at $8.25? Not even comparable.

Giroux's a better player definitely, but for some reason, I'd rather have Staal on the Sens. Don't know why.

Giroux has passed him. Staal didn't even start playing until the Canes were safely out of the playoffs.

If this is because what BCC posted, you do realize that whole thread was intended as a joke. Read some more of his posts and you'll understand

Way to over think life^^, I don't see why this isn't a reasonable poll..

I'm shaking in my boots

Career = Staal but Giroux in his break out year. I think its a fair poll. God knows we could bump this next year and it could be Giroux who??

I still say Giroux but it's not as far as people think. It's not like we're comparing Giroux and Jokinen or some other Canes center. But OP does have a point, this is his first 70 point season. However, I highly doubt it is his last. Is he a better player right now? Certainly. Is he is better player altogether? Time will tell

I said Giroux, but only because of money. If they made the same thing, I'm taking Staal.

Said Staal at beginning of the year and was fairly confident (read: arrogant) in my view that it would stay that way at the end of the year.

I was wrong: it's Giroux.

No it's not. Giroux has something like 165 points in his last 2 seasons, and that's not including the play-offs.

Staal is having a top 5 season all-time in Claude Giroux adjusted points. Yeah, you read that correct. ALL-TIME.

I don't even see how this is should be remotely close.
