Just had this thought run into my head. Might be a stretch but could he be here to replace Morrow next season?
Take his spot? Hopefully.
Isn't he planning on going all 4 years to college, or can he return to college after this at all? I thought once you go pro, you can't come back, but I don't really know the whole thing that well.
I think Morrow being moved to the 4th line was a sign this was going to happen, and that he would play. It's much easier to move Burish instead of Morrow from a top 6 spot for a new rookie who doesn't even know the system and plays. I would prefer he get some time to adjust to everything and that he sits tomorrow, but only tomorrow.
That's what I want to see. 1st line can't be broken up just yet, but it's getting to the point where it might. 3rd line has been atrocious recently, so I could see Morrow being up there to add a physical presence and some more offense to that line as well. Nystrom is just bad when he isn't scoring, but Wandell and Vincour and good enough that he might be able to find a couple more goals by the end of the season.
Honestly ... Smith and Chiasson should both be defensively responsible like Eriksson. They both come from great schools that preach defense and creating offense from good defense.
IDK when they'll both be in the lineup together, but you shouldn't have to worry about them in their own zone.

he can go back to college but he can't play NCAA hockey

My only critiques would be:
Let Smith start at his more comfortable LW position. He's played there 3 years in Miami.
Morrow is not healthy enough to provide a physical presence on the 3rd line or defend top offensive threats.
I think the third line either goes back to normal or Burish replaces Dvorak.
I don't think Burish has any chance of sitting which means Vincour is probably the odd man out with Dowell, Garbutt, and Petersen.
Since Vincour is on the Clear Day roster, I could see him getting some games in down in Austin before returning for the playoffs. Just to stay fresh. Unless they have massive injuries .... I don't think Garbutt has a shot of being an injury replacement down in Texas. Now it seems like it's too bad they left him off the clear day.

Ugh....Otter still sticks out like a sore thumb in that lineup.
This is probably a really stupid question, but I have no idea so am asking. Can he play in the playoffs if we were to make it? I know Turco can't play for Boston but didn't know if this was different or not.

Wasn't sure if Smith was a LW or RW, couldn't remember. Makes more sense with him on the left anyways.
Which is why I put him on the 3rd line to begin with. I think Fiddler and Dvorak are better defensively than Wandell and whoever else plays, and he gets the freedom to focus more on offense. Also, Fiddler and Dvorak are at least a bit physical, which Wandell lacks, but that depends on who the 12th forward is.
I thought that too, that's just what I'd like to see.
I hope not. It'd be a waste, and I'd rather have him up here than send him to Austin for ~6 games.
