Springfield Falcons forward Alexandre Giroux became the 23rd player in AHL history with 700 career points, scoring a second-period goal in the Falcons' 5-3 loss at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday afternoon.The goal, the 364th of Giroux's AHL career, moved the Quebec City native into a tie with AHL Hall of Famer Mitch Lamoureux for seventh place on the league's all-time list.Giroux, in his 11th AHL season, has totaled 364 goals and 336 assists for 700 points in 764 regular-season games with Grand Rapids, Binghamton, Hartford, Chicago, Hershey, Oklahoma City and Springfield.The 30-year-old Giroux won the AHL’s goal-scoring title and the Calder Cup in both 2008-09 and 2009-10 with Hershey, combining for 110 regular-season goals and 200 points in those two years.
