Bruce Boudreau

Anaheim has some of the most offensive players in the league yet play a boring style. Bring in BB and let the horses run wild. They already are playing like one of the worst defensive teams in the league...

Perry
Getzlaf
Ryan
Selanne
Koivu
Cogliano
Hagman
Blake
Fowler
Vishnovsky
Beauchimen

compared to Washington

OV
Backstrom
Semin
Knuble
Laich
Brouwer
Ward
Green
Wideman
Carlsson

I would take the heart and soul of ANA over WASH any day. They just need to learn to attack the other team. Plus ANA could use some exciting fast paced hockey!!!

you realize that BB absolutely changed his system in washington last year to a defense first mentality...

RC can get the job done.. he can't raise their confidence for them.. like selanne said, the players need to be the ones to go out and execute. you can only do so much in practice..

look at lindy ruff in buffalo.. hes been coaching that team since the late 90's.. he's been with the team through the up's and down's and im sure he commands a lot of respect in that lockerroom.. he coaches the sabres to last in their division from 01-04.. and hes still there... honestly a good coach is a good coach.. he can only do so much with the players at hand.. and like all human coaches make mistakes..
i think it'd be a mistake to fire RC.. ride this season out and regroup... making the playoffs is unlikely right now but its not impossible.. look at the sharks last year.. after the all-star game they ended up skyrocketing.. our finish was amazing as well last season.. this group of guys can do it.. once they some of the confidence flowing it'll be infectious...

I would if he preached a more offensive style, im tired of Carlyle dump and chase hockey.

Boudreau would work here.

Meh, might be cool to see them run wild the rest of this year. Don't think BB is a good coach in the long run.

Right now I just have two coaches in mind who I consider better than RC and both are not available. The first one is Babcock and the second is Kevin Dineen.

IMHO the coach is not the problem, he is just the piece you can change most easily.

My problem with RC is that he is either unwilling or not capable of adapting. Its pretty clear that the dump and chase offense is not working, so why not switch it up? If you know that your players cant be successful in the system, you would think it would make sense to change up the system a little bit.

Carlyle's main problems here are that he plays his stars too much and he's an intense taskmaster type coach that may have lost some players. Wouldn't Boudreau just be more of the same?

Also we have a budget to work with. Offensive style hockey requires offensive players, who are more expensive. Budget teams should focus on defense. That's how low budget, low talent teams can win. That's the problem with Murray, he's too enamored with trying to increase scoring when we can't afford it long term.

The players that BB lost were lazy players like Semin and Ovechkin who refused to play defense. The hard nose guys like Laich, Knuble, Ward, Green etc still bought in to the end.

There are hard nosed players on the Ducks not soft players like Washington. I think if you add a high speed offense to the style of player that ANA currently has it would be a great fit. Not saying RC can't do it. But, BB has a proven speed game

Wow, talk about getting on your feet quick! Good job on Bruce. Good luck to him, hopefully it goes better in Anaheim than it did in Washington.

Being a Caps mod. Didn't think it would be this fast that BB got hired. Interesting to see how it plays out. He just ran out of steam as the Caps coach but that doesn't apply when he comes in anew.

He did so much for the Caps coming in after Hanlon. He vaulted the caps from a rebuilding team to one of the top teams in the NHL. IMO I think he learned some things from his transition from an AHL team to an NHL team mainly being a little more disciplined. Will be really interesting to see how it plays out.
