Not much has been made public about it, other than it's a lower body injury. I hope they're just being cautious.

Some snippets have inferred that he will be held out of the remainder of the pre-season as a precaution, but is expected to be on the opening night roster.

Glad to see it's not serious.

Knowing the Flyers, probably dual amputation.

I was thinking maybe something along the lines of disembowelment.

edit: which would kinda work with the whole "groin injury" rumor (which I also heard them say the other night).

I have also heard its a groin issue,,,,,,,which can be one of them injuries that can really stay with you for a long time if its not left to heal properly......some players never recover fully from groin injuries that occur early in the season.....[ a real show stopper for goalies].Hopefully JVR's groin problem is not chronic.

Sunday's update -- Nodl, Schenn and JVR are skating with the team at practice. And the self-analysis from JVR, per Sam at the Inquirer, is that he is "fine" to play Thursday.

I want to think they just don't want to risk him aggravating something to the point where he has to miss an extended period of time...

However, my brain reminds me that be plays for a team that historically Is one of the most coy organizations when it comes to downplaying injuries.

I hope he's good to go. He needs to be a huge part of this team this season

Andreas Nodl (groin pull) and Brayden Schenn (shoulder injury) worked out on their own initially on Sunday before joining the main group on the ice at Skate Zone. It’s becoming more feasible that Schenn could start the season with the Phantoms while rehabbing his shoulder.

That would allow the Flyers significant salary cap relief during the first week of the season to make some roster adjustments, then LTI Ian Laperriere (post-concussion syndrome) and deal with any cap issues in mid-October.

Schenn said he is feeling good, but he is not sure whether he is cleared for contact yet. He thinks he will be ready to play this week. Though he did not say it, he definitely had a shoulder injury and admitted he was trying to work on shooting again.

Matt Walker did not practice. Walker played Saturday night in New Jersey but did not appear to incur an injury. James van Riemsdyk, who had been bothered by a groin pull, was a late addition to the ice at practice.

Looks like they are going to put Schenn in the minors under the pretense of an injury, so that they can sort out the cap.

It can all be managed as soon as Lappy is on IR, Walker is in the minors and Shelley is a goner.

Hi, I come here in peace. Just was wondering on JVR's Status and what you think he's projected to do in terms of points for the season cause I took him in my fantasy draft today. How much more is he projected to do this year because of Carter being gone. Just curious. Thanks for any help you can offer me.

He's projected to be on a line with Giroux and Jagr.

I don't know much about fantasy sports, perhaps someone else can answer.

Thanks for letting me know who his line mates are. Giroux is projected to have a good season, so hopefully JVR will have a good season too. Anyone know about how many goals/assissts JVR is projected to be around?

I'd say something like 30-30 is likely maybe a tad more. He put up 21g and 19a last year and that was with him struggling at the start of the year and being a healthy scratch. Seeing top line and top powerplay minutes he should get that, of course as long as he's healthy.

For the record who ever wrote that write up for the practice from today(Sunday) is blind as hell... I was at sz from 10 am when they scheduled the practice for 11... Schenn and nodl both practiced in a 5 on 3 drill with it being giroux, pronger, jagr, briere & jvr vs combonations of schenn Nodl shelly and bartullis... Also jvr was out there from the very start and was not a "late addition" walker was also out there.. Briefly but he was out there

If he stays healthy he should be fine if he plays with G and Jagr, It looks like our PP is going to be sick this year.
