Weird hockey so far. Holtby goofed on both goals and stopped 4 other good chances.
I keep talking about our C depth. It seems to me that we have poor puck position skills. That's what good centers do best--they take the puck from the D transition and skate it up the ice until they either a) get a scoring chance or b) get checked and dish it off safely to a wing. Good centers can do that--our centers, aside from Backstrom, can't.
The D is out of whack but if we had centers that didn't cough up the puck constantly they'd have an easier time of it.
Green made a few nice plays on O and on D. He's not dominating but he is contributing.
Lots of Sabres fans in attendance. Caps not quite the draw they were a couple of years ago.
This is what McPhee has brought us twice now...a team that the fans have no faith in. Might as well make 200 a pop for a ticket.
George McPhee....The Teflon GM. 15 years of failure and counting....
6 - Number of playoff series the Capitals have won since George McPhee took over as General Manager in 1997 (which makes him the third-longest-tenured GM in the League), three of which came in McPhee's first season on the job.
Just getting up to speed. Saw the two replays. Just makes me sick to my stomach. Holtby can't be showboating in today's game of all games. Ryan Miller is so hard to score on. Caps now have to push a boulder up hill.
