What regular season hardware will the Blues bring home?

A couple of thread on the main board got me wondering about this. My thoughts:

Jennings: Easy win, no contest.

Norris: Pietrangelo deserves some consideration, but likely doesn't overcome the reputations of Chara, Lidstrom, and Weber, nor the amazing season of Karlsson to be a finalist.

Selke: Backes should be a finalist, has a good shot at winning.

Jack Adams: Hitchcock should be a finalist, has a good shot at winning.

GM of the year: Armstrong should be a finalist, likely doesn't win. Probably goes to Tallon in Florida.

President's Trophy: Possible, I'd put chances at 50%/50% right now.

I don't think the Blues will receive consideration for any other regular season awards. What do my fellow Blues fans think?

I'll say Jennings, Jack Adams, and GM.

I have no clue on the Selke as that is very subjective.

Pietrangelo is still a year away from being a serious Norris contender, right or wrong.

I still like Pittsburgh for the President's Trophy.

The Jennings and Jack Adams are basically a lock.

If Pie finishes very strong, who knows, he could come up and win the Norris.

The GM Award is very possible, wouldn't be suprised if Armstrong either won or lost.

The President's Trophy is also very possible, it all comes down to the Blues, Rangers, and Penguins with the Canucks being dark horses.

Now how about Playoff hardware?

Jennings and Jack Adams for sure. No way Petro is a finalist for Norris even though I think he should be. Selke will go to Bergeron most likely. Presidents is still a real possibility but you never know

Jennings and Jack Adams are a lock and I think those are the only two. Only other possibilities being GM and possibly the President's Trophy.

Jennings and Jack, I agree. I wouldn't be surprised if the Blues got snubbed otherwise though. Don't think they'll get anything else. I heard for awhile Boudreau might get the Jack. I think Hitch deserves it much more. I think that was only if the Ducks made the playoffs though.

I'd like to see Backes win the Selke and then we nab the Jennings and Adams.

Don't really care about the President's trophy.

In the end, as long as we win the cup, that's all that counts.

If Boudreau wins coach of the year, I might give up being a fan. I know you qualified it with the Ducks making the playoffs. Even then, I can't believe Hitchcock doesn't win unanimously.

Completely agree. The hardware I care most about is Backes lifting the cup, and someone lifting the Conn Smythe. I will worry about the other awards after that.

If the Blues win the cup, the Conn Smythe winner's name will rhyme with Faroslav Dalak.

or...

Walex Tietrangelo

No way Boudreau wins it. The Ducks have completely fallen out of playoff contention.

I actually think Backes has a very strong chance of getting recognized with the Selke Trophy this year. He's been getting more national attention for the job he does defensively against the top players in the league.

Now that is the mentality to have. If we don't pull it together and raise the cup, I would love to see wou guys do it.

Jennings 100%
Central Division 99%
Western Conference 75%
Adams 75%
President's 35%
Vezina 10%
Norris 5%
Selke 5%

If I was a betting man, I'd say we win the Jennings, the Central Division, the Western Conference, and the Adams.

Jennings/Division are close to a lock, the Conference is getting there.

Hitchcock deserves the Adams but there have been a few other good success stories this season so we'll see.

There are a lot of people fighting for the President's (us, NYR, PIT, VAN) and I put us at better than average out of the 4 to win it but there is so much competition and PIT is playing like crazy right now.

Neither Halak nor Elliott have the number of games played to win the Vezina so the only way I could see it happening is if the GMs decide to award it to both Halak and Elliott as a shared award. With other goaltenders like Lundqvist having numbers that are close and more games played, I don't see them awarding it to a tandem.

Pietrangelo and Backes are worthy of being in the Norris and Selke talk but neither is likely to win the award, in my opinion.

A strong case could also be made for Tortorella for Jack Adams. If the Rangers won the President's Cup, I wouldn't begrudge him that award. (But I don't think they'll do that.)

Yeah, I think New York and Ottawa are the two other teams who might get the Adams. Hitchcock and the Blues have to be the favorites though.

That would be incredible. It wouldn't be undeserved.

I'm with you. I'll count the trophies after they're handed out, but only one trophy really matters.

Everyone and their brother thinks Hitchcock will get the Adams. Backes has a lot of buzz concerning the Selke. Jennings is basically locked up. Norris and Vezina are both highly unlikely.

The one that's interesting to me is the Masterton. I think that if Perron was nominated he would be in the top 3 for winning it, but Elliott was basically thrown by the wayside so he has a shot.

Jack Adams

Jennings

Selke finalist

NHL Foundation Award - Backes? The NHL Foundation Player Award is awarded annually to the National Hockey League (NHL) player "who applies the core values of (ice) hockey—commitment, perseverance and teamwork—to enrich the lives of people in his community".

The man rescues dogs.

See, I don't think that Elliott has any chance at the Masterton Trophy. The only adversity he overcame was his own poor play last season. Other players nominated this year have overcome broken necks, addiction, and severe blood clotting issues. That isn't to say that the Masterton isn't a broadly defined trophy and that Elliott doesn't deserve his nomination.
