I don't know about you guys, but I'm excited about the Bruins-'Canes series this year. After we stuck it to them for the first time in franchise history (and in a manner of hilarious ways, including having their entire starting lineup in the penalty box), the Bruins will be back for blood.
Especially if we meet in the playoffs again. That would be fun.
Small children (such as Jeff Skinner) might die if that were to happen.
Also...could we get a new title for this thread? It's a bit old...

Was just about to post this. If we have no one tough outside of Gleason, I have a real fear about how our team would survive playoff hockey against the Bruins. Every time we play them I anticipate at least a locker room visit due to injury.
Gamecenter to be $50 this year, Center Ice to be $60...
Has anyone here used Gamecenter before? I'd like to know if it's worth getting, because that's about 1/4 of the price it would be to buy cable for my room. How many games do you get, and what quality are they?
Have the re-released a tv schedule yet? Doesn't appear that Saturday will be on tv. Cats/Canes is usually one they skip on but the first game of the year???? come on...i need my Canes fix!!!111!!11111!!!!!!! Shaking over here.

You get every game not in your blackout area, in which case you can usually just watch it on TV anyway. I've even gotten jumbotron feeds from the arenas if there's no TV on either side, so that was pretty sweet.
The quality depends entirely on your computer and your connection. If you do have a high-speed wired connection that's best. Otherwise, on my machines back home, a high-speed wired connection will usually bring you in and out of 1080p as your connection speed changes.
I'd totally recommend it, especially since it's only $60. You get access to the vault as well, which is fun when you're bored.

In Charlotte, the Fox sports website lists the game as being on Fox Sports Carolinas. So there is hope!
I used Gamecenter the last two years. I liked it a lot. The single issue I have with it (as with most Internet streaming things) is that it's about a minute behind, so don't refresh these boards too fast or chat with anyone about the game or it will be spoiled. I'm curious to see how good the Xbox app that they are releasing this season is.
I haven't decided if I will get Gamecenter or Center Ice yet; hopefully there are free trials of both to help me decide. I never got Center Ice before because of limited HD channels, but I have recently switched to FiOS so I am hoping they have more. Also, with Gamecenter I could always watched John and Tripp because it lets you choose your feed.

That blackout area concerns me. I live in Raleigh, so if I get Gamecenter will I be able to watch every Canes game on it? Because if I get gamecenter I won't be getting cable.
You won't be able to watch any Canes game unless it is not on cable.
Hmm... I guess I better wait until FSS releases their broadcast schedule then. Is it easy enough to find online streams of the games if Gamecenter isn't showing it?
I'll be renewing gcl, and I just paid for a month of hockeystreams. Hockey streams has improved quite a bit, it'll be fun comparing them head to head. Hockeystreams has some games made for idevices, worked great for my iPad and the wjc's.
Gcl always has had consistent higher quality. If anyone's interested ill report back in a couple of weeks.
To answer the earlier question, no local or nationally broadcast games on gcl. Hockeystreams has them all but isn't exactly legit.
I may just spring for gamecenter live this season. How long is it before you can view replays of games? Are they available that night, or the next day? And if I'm reading this right, I can run it through my xbox?
curious for the xbox app. in some of the others, the only game you could watch are live ones or watch the highlights. the best part of gcl for me is the dvr functions. any part of any game any time. ill never go back to center ice because of it. i get home at funky times because of work. its nice to pick and choose, and the way they mark all the highlights and goals on the bottom of the stream is a nice touch.
theyll make a ton of money next year, 50 bucks just to try is hard to turn away and once people use it its hard not to come back. its a great program, the whole blackout local games and playoffs is by far the biggest turn off. ways around that of course.

If I could around the blackouts free and without much risk of losing my account, I'd do it. I don't like using crappy streams..
Oh my god. Legendary thread is legendary. I'd almost kill for Maniscalco to come over to HF after reading that just for the epic hilarity of it all... almost.
Pretty sure he browses the boards from time to time as is.

Having Tripp post on this board would complete me.
