Dubinsky + (Staal/MDZ/McD) + ? (DET,WPG, MTL, DAL)

Ok, so basically if NY is looking to upgrade on forward but acquire a defenseman in the deal, what would other teams offer for a package like this.

Sought out pieces are:

-1 Top 4 RH Dman < 1 of Staal/McD/MDZ
-1 Top 6 forward > Dubinsky

4 proposals come to mind - but if they don't make sense feel free to add your own or counter propose something.

1st deal:

Pacioretty + Subban for Dubinsky + 1 of Staal, McDonagh, or MDZ

2nd deal:

Evander Kane + Zach Bogosian for Dubinsky + 1 of Staal, McDonagh, or MDZ + 1st 2012 + prospect not named Kreider

3rd deal:

Henrik Zetterberg + Ian White for Dubinsky + 1 of Staal, McDonagh, or MDZ + prospect not name Kreider

4th deal:

Stephane Robidas + Louis Eriksson + 2nd for Dubinsky & 1 of Staal, McDonagh, or MDZ

As a Habs fan I'd rather keep Pacioretty and Subban so a definite no for that proposed Habs deal.

Shouldn't you guys wait to see if you can land Schultz before you consider a deal like this?

Loui Eriksson is worth Dubinsky and Staal and + by himself, I have no clue why you think Dallas adds Robidas and a 2nd. These proposals seem pretty dire for everyone else, I am pretty sure that Habs fans will tell you that Subban>Staal and Patches>Dubinsky. I think the Rangers have an organizational strength at D, and using Dubinsky and Staal to get a forward upgrade might make sense, but I don't think that those 2 pieces are worth both a top 6 and a righty top 4 considering Staal's current (relatively) low value.

All four trades would probably get rejected by the other teams involved.

No point for the Jets to do that.

These are probably some of the worst proposals I've ever seen.

Where does this come from?
He's been one of our best dmen as of late...and hasn't shown any problems since coming back...

Yeah trading a top 6 forward (under 25) and a top two defenseman (under 25) + picks is certainly a lowball...

It is from a Habs POV when the players you want back are both a top 6 forward and top 2 defenseman at 23 and 22 years old and arguably better than what you offered.

Say heck no.

ETA: If you're willing to consider a D or D prospect who isn't Bogosian, then we can talk.

I think his health is a risk. I hope he is fine and I liked the idea of Staal in a package for Richards last deadline, but why do you have him in your proposal? Is it because he has been playing really well and is the top D on your team, or is it because that he has moved down the depth chart? I would love to have the depth on D that the Rangers have, but I am not convinced yet. Once again, I hope he is fine but I don't think his value has been much lower in his career, and you may be better served by waiting for his value to rebound.

Dubinsky is worse than Pacioretty, but in no universe is Subban better than Staal.
He could be, but currently is not.

My main reason is I'd like to turn one of the Lefties into a rightie. If you noticed I changed the proposal to one of McD, MDZ or Staal.
I picked Staal because I felt comparatively, he could get a better return than the other two...

hang up the phone and blacklist Sather.

Dubinsky (Dustinksky) has an awful contract, Staal now has concussion issues, and MDZ has been up and down the past two years. For Robidas and Eriksson? Piss right off. You can have Robidas for Dubinsky if you want, though.

But the gap between Dubinsky and Pax and 10 times the size of the gap between Subban and Staal .... and I hate the habs

I respect your opinion but IMO Subban is better. I wouldn't trade Subban for Staal and I doubt many Hab fans would either.

fair enough...
they can counter propose then.

I think most of the time a proposal will be favoured towards the OP's team.
If adding in a 1st and a 2nd makes it fair then we can discuss.

If they'd prefer Anisimov, they can discuss.

AND I've also come to conclusion that HFBOARDS makes no sense. I just checked the polls board. McDonagh is beating Subban in a poll. Subban beat Marc Staal in a poll, and Staal beat McDonagh in a poll by quite a wide margin...and these were all recent

i think that all these trade proposals are ridiculous. Id have no interest in making any of these deals. Our team is in 1st place and dont need to change the core of our team. The only deal we really should be looking at is the possibility of dealing Dubinsky and or Anisimov. Otherwise let Staal be, its really funny how everyone here forgets how Staal is a top dman in the league, an all-star and on a very good contract.

In no way do i see PK Subban as better or even equal to Staal. Id gladly take Staal over Subban any day of the week and twice on sunday.

Lets just keep this simple and look for a deal to help clear cap space in Dubinsky +/- Anisimov.. Dubinsky for a 1st and a B level prospect.. or Dubinsky and Anisimov for a top 6 forward.

Anisimov... come on.. Pax is probably the best thing that has happened to the Habs this year... I dont think Dubinsky or Anisimov or a 28th pick overall will cut it
