stay at home, shut down Dman. solid in his own end, nothing flashy. last i saw he was 6'2" and about 190lbs. not sure if he has grown or filled out more since then. google is your friend though
edit: here is a quick scouting report from a western hockey college blog a year ago
Cameron Schilling, Junior, Defense, Miami(Free Agent)
Schilling isn't a flashy player, but is a rock on defense. He's got pretty decent size and though he doesn't put up huge numbers, he can move the puck. He's the type of player that doesn't draw a lot of attention, but would make a very solid pro hockey player.
Caps just signed a college UFA, Can Schilling from Miami (OH) per McKenzie. I'll look him up in Red Line when I get home.
"Cam"
Thanks (curious if they have a write-up on him?.) I've seen him play a few times, expect he starts next season in Hershey and could join Hershey on an ATO this season.
Pretty solid get. Not outstanding but pretty well-rounded. Haven't seen his shot all that much from what I recall but I like some of the praise it gets.
Gmgm instructed dale to barely make it so we get pick 15 and it looks like not trading our players at deadline was critical to making it!
You know, if the Sabres pass the Caps and the Flames pass the Avs, we'd end up with the 11th and 12th picks. That'd pretty much guarantee us one of Guance or Faksa and one of Reilly, Reinhart, or Ceci. Personally, I'm more excited about the possibility of landing a big, well rounded 2C of the future and a great D prospect than the possibility of sneaking into the 8th spot to get play the Rangers or Pens in the first round.
I just saw TSN Bob McKenzie's twitter post that the Caps have signed defenseman Cam Schilling out of Miami (OH) University.
This is a great signing by the Caps. Excellent and responsible defensive defenseman that plays with an edge. If you want to know anything else about Cam let me know. I've seen play many times throughout his collegiate career.

Very good. He's not a speed guy, but he moves well, especially in the defensive zone. He's more of a power skater (for a lack of a better term) than a speedster. This doesn't mean he's slow, quite the contrary. He has really good feet and this is particularly evident in how he moves laterally. During his career at Miami, he continually got stronger, especially his leg strength, and that IMO has really helped make him a better skater because he makes transitions more smoothly and cover more ice effectively.

"Cameron was a highly sought-after college free agent and we are delighted that he signed with the Washington Capitals,” said McPhee. “He will be a solid pro for many years."...
Schilling’s contract will begin next season (2012-13). He will report to Hershey this week and will begin playing on a tryout agreement for the remainder of this season.
What kind of ceiling do those familiar with his game see for him? Solid defense, decent skater, hard shot kind of sounds like a LD version of Milan Jurcina to me, which wouldn't be bad at all in my book.
Of course, with NCAA rules, it wasn't an option for this "to come to fruition sooner"
2 year ELC starting next season; ATO with Hershey for this season link
Yes, I know. I didn't word that very well. But his agent could have at least given me a heads up. I would have bought him a beer if he had. I know, I know - no tampering allowed. Rules, rules, rules - are made to be broken. LOL

Not as big but close. I'd hope he thinks the game a little better and can make a better first pass. Seems like a potential 5-7.
He doesn't have as much flair in his game as a couple of the other top NCAA UFA d-men but he's probably a better complimentary fit down the road if he does pan out.
