Quote:
#mnwild has signed Jason Zucker to an entry-level deal
Good move. I'm really looking forward to this.

Wild will have a massive camp in terms of roster competition. Granlund, Larsson, Zucker, Brodin, Coyle, Bulmer and Phillips all in the mix.
Isn't that the truth. Next year will be very exciting

Apparently Fletcher said something earlier about getting some of these contracts for the young guys staggered so they don't run out all at the same time...makes sense.

And please tell me that Zucker is NOT coming to the NHL just yet, he needs to heal up and there is no reason to toss him in to a couple meaningless NHL games only to see him aggravate something.
I highly doubt the Wild would have him play if they thought he was still too hurt to do so.
This shaves a year off his ELC, no?

I don't think they would let him play if he wasn't 100%. how recent was his last injury?

So he'll play on the 2nd line with Christiansen and who? Clutter? Or would it be better to put him with a vet like Brodziak and roll a Zucker - Brodziak - Johnson?
Edit: and yeah, I'm still pronounciating it Z-uh-cker

WOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!
I'm just glad to see Zucker signed, didn't know he was playing on Thursday! Kind of surprising, but you might as well give the kid a shot.

Yeah, I have to think if they thought he could further damage an existing injury they would sit him the rest of the year.

Wouldn't be surprised if they have him up on the team for money purposes and don't play him like Prosser a couple years ago. Looks like he's playing.
Really wanted to kill that first year of the ELC.

They really weren't kidding about not wanting them all to come up for FA at the same time.
Put him next to Mikko and see what happens.

Yeah if we signed all of these guys at the same time and all of their ELC's ended at the same time and depending on how they play over the next three years, they could end up with some hefty pay raises which would have Fletch doing some epic cap management over that summer.
Good to see Zucker signed, now just need to get Granlund and we're set. Anyword on the cap hit yet?

Max cap hit (900K) next two years , 70K signing bonus now, 90K each of next two years.
Of course if Zucker's in the AHL then the money is less as all ELCs are 2-way deals.

Looks very similar to Larsson's and Bulmer's deals.

Well they're all second-round picks from the same draft class.

Wait isn't Zucker injured right now? Last thing I heard about him is he crash landed into the boards or got hit hard from someone. Shoulder injury?
Was it just a minor one? Plus this will give me some extra incentive to watch Wild games again, see how our prospects handle the rigor of the NHL.

Quick question, why does this burn a year off his ELC? Don't you need 10 games to do that? In any case this makes the upcoming games a little more exciting and clearly his injury problems aren't too concerning so that's good too. Still think Zucker has some developing to do but I guess well get a better look as to how much work he needs and things may be more clear on his role with the team.

RT @styleswild: Jason Zucker will wear #16 for us.
Even better news, he is wearing my old high school hockey number.
Kids has a good head when it comes to jersey numbers.

Wonder why he didn't want 17...maybe he wanted 16 at Denver but someone else had that.
