I'm so happy this is catching on. Huge thanks to GK, chirp, yost, 6th sens, jason york, and everyone else helping to spread the idea. Also, Marty9, you should give yourself a pat on the back for an awesome idea.
So I guess it's decided. We're going with a 10 second countdown starting at 11:21. At the 11:11 mark I'd say just do whatever. It'll probably start with a big cheer after the countdown and that will turn into the ALFIE chant. Maybe with some ONE MORE YEAR chants thrown in there too. Also, I really hope this turns into a legit tradition and keeps going after this season, and maybe even after Alfie retires.
SensChirp mentioned it on his website. Seems to be getting mostly positive feedback from people commenting. I think this should be perfect by the third period. It might take the first two for people to get in on it.
I didn't want random people adding me on facebook.
Me and SensChirp talked about it, and I'm pretty sure he is going to make it on the SensChirp facebook account, which is a much better idea to get more people to join right off the hop.
Also, I believe that the Senators Org is willing to link the facebook event right from their facebook page, so that will really help out with getting more people involved.
But, before any of this goes through, we have to hammer out the final few details. Like, what are we chanting?
Is it counting down at 11:10 until 11:00 and chanting Alfie and being really loud, or are we doing something else? This just needs to be organized so everyone is on the same page when the facebook page finally does go up.
So, moral of the story, the quicker we get the last few details down, the more people will know about it.
I still think start countdown at 11:21 Alfie at 11:11 go crazy at 11:00
changing every period would get confusing, if we don't change it people will join in

Thats what I was thinking.
I think Marty9 should have the final say, considering it was his idea.

I'm pessimistic about the countdown/timing thing working. Like I said, what if we are down 3 nothing at the 11 minute mark? What if there is a whistle at 10:56. Too many silly variables that will inevitably screw things up.
Simplest/best idea in my mind is to start chanting "ONE MORE YEAR" after Alfie scores next. The timed pencil drop thing is high school level and for the 18,000 people in the building who don't have an HFBoards account or follow Ian Mendes on Twitter it will just be confusing. I see 20 people max in the building doing this.
Are you really going to have the balls to keep counting down 10... 9... 8... when you realize you are the only one in your section doing it? The "Go Sens Go" chant dies out after 5 seconds usually and everybody knows the words to that one.
As a genuine loudmouth who actually starts and joins chants at games, I fully support "One More Year" and think that would catch on way easier than a Sesame Street-style prolonged countdown. But best of luck to you though! Don't mean to be a negative ass but I say what I think. If I hear others doing it I will join in as I always do.
I think the OP was intending to start this next home game and after a few games it should catch on quickly.
Someone should make a video on youtube or something, with a clock countdown and flash the words on the screen that should be said according to the time clock.

They were helped greatly by being diehards, travelling together, sitting all together and having months of advanced planning to work out what they were going to do. We are talking pretty short notice for this current plan. I wish you all the best like I said earlier and offer my support.
I really think if you do this it needs to be a simple phrase. I would recommend the 'One more year' chant if you're going for something new. I really can't see 'praise Alfie' as something you will be able to synchronize across the arena and it will end up coming across muffled.
ONE MORE YEAR!
Also it's very important that he has something to think about should we happen to a) miss the playoffs or b) get knocked out early. Right now I think he's 50/50 on whether or not he'll play next year.

Heard about this through SensChirp.ca
I'm down, I'll be in section 104 right by the Sens bench. One More Year!! Alfie, Alfie, Alfie!
Looks like it is starting to come together. I'll keep an eye on the thread throughout the day in the event there are any changes and then get the Facebook Event up tonight.
Honestly, I think it would work better without it. Just an Alfie chant that happens at 11:11 of each period. Think that is easier for fans to get behind. Perhaps an optional countdown that some would do to let others know the Alfie chant is coming?
Either way, important to find a consensus before the event page is posted.

That's what I was thinking, the countdown is a bit unnecessary.
