When was the last time Canada had a good u-18? They always fail in this tournament.

Trouba has yet to disappoint me. From WJC to today. haven't seen much of Kerdiles.

Usually all the good u18 players are in the CHL playoffs.

Wow, Seth Jones looks unreal. He could be a top 4 NHL d-man RIGHT NOW I think.
He looks like a tank out there and skates like the wind.

Loving the Trouba-Jones pairing. People weren't exaggerating about Jones. He's the real deal.
First he goes on a rush up ice that reminded me of Fowler, then he cuts of Gemel Smith perfectly.
Didn't like Smith's reaction. Actually haven't been a fan of Smith's attitude the whole game. As I type that Jones drops a Canadian trying to deke around him. Kid is unreal. As for top 4 in the NHL right now? I'm not so sure. But he's probably contend to take Murray's spot this year.
EDIT: There's why. Jones got burned BAD.

Agreed. My jaw hit the floor when he skated back to cover after his D-partner gave the puck away.
When I saw him live vs University of Denver he was the best player on the ice.

Shinkaruk scores. Dumba draws an assist on that one. Kid's been looking good.
USA to the PP.

Lol Jones just made Shinkaruk look like a little kid with that behind the back poke check.
Dumba changing minds for sure. Lot's of US players have left more to be desired. Especially Skjei. I haven't seen the hype be deserved yet.
Terrible camera work by the way.

My opinion means little to nothing, but for me, Dumba is the best defenseman in the draft in terms of all around skill and upside.

I think this U.S. team is a bit of a mirage. Some definate top-end talent and strong systems play, but a lot of very average players.

Same can be said for Canada. Best player on the ice right now is Jones. Lots of average on both teams.

Yeah and he's gonna be a Duck
EDM: Yakupov. Duh
CBJ: Murray: won't want Grigorenko, need NHL ready talent to improve ASAP
MTL: Galchenyuk/Grigorenko
NYI: Apparently a lock to pick Forsberg
TML: Grigorenko/Galchenyuk
ANA: Dumba

I wouldn't be too surprised if he went that late (Fowler, Gormley, Hamilton, Murphy are a few examples in recent drafts) but he's definitely closer to 5-7 imo (especially considering he's a July '94).
I might even take him ahead of Murray (and I'm a huge Murray fan) as I think he has more game-changing ability.
