I felt that hit from Jones. WOW.

The tank jobs next year for MacKinnon/Jones/Monahan/Barkov and company will be epic. Damn, what a draft this could be.

All honesty, until you posted that, I didn't know the score. I was so focused on watching some guys I haven't had a chance to see before

Okay well I'm gonna miss the third period so I guess I'll just give my comments

USA
Jones: Phenomenal talent. Could be the best defenseman to be taken since 2008. Kid's got it all. Hits like a truck, handles the puck like an OFD, and knows what to do under pressure. Very impressed and upset he isn't 2012 eligible.
Trouba: Less flash but he's still just as solid as before. Wouldn't mind the Ducks taking him
Kerdiles: Expected a little more. He's got a nose for the net but he isn't really doing anything productive out there.
Riely Barber: invisible. other than his goal
Sieloff: Where is all this love from Button coming from. I haven't seen it deserved in one single USA game.
Skjei: Same thing. I see him going as high as 14 on some mocks. I don't see it all and I haven't. To me picking him anywhere but under 20 would be a waste of a pick.

CAN:
Dumba: Pretty much as good as advertised and I don't understand the low rankings. Jones is outplaying him ATM, but it's clear that Dumba is something special
Pulock: First time seeing him. Don't see what all the fuss is about. Hasn't done anything bad, but hasn't done anything spectacular either.
Severson: Invisible minus a penalty.
Gaunce: Really showing how overrated he's been. I haven't seen any of what has been advertised. NHL strength? What? Offensive awareness? Doesn't know where the puck is. Great defensive play? Getting burned left and right.
S.Reinhart: Hasn't wowed me, but hasn't disappointed either
Smith: He's been annoying me. He goes into dirty areas which is good but he'll skate slowly into a group of 4 US defenders and just lose it. That isn't good offense, that's retarded hockey. And everytime something hasn't gone his way he's thrown a mini tantrum. Do not like.
Troock/Laughton/Winther: Invisible but probably in a good way
Shinkaruk: Very good. Probably not Mackinnon good, but he's got all the tools to be a star. You can say a bit of Etem's style in him but you add more goodies to it.

I think he is probably going to be better than any defender taken in 2008, even Pietrangelo.

That's what I was thinking but I don't want to be too hasty. It's like if you combined Niedermayer's game with Pronger's and boom: Seth Jones...only he's American.

I've just been beyond impressed with him.

Forwards are really nothing special, especially without Matteau. Not a lot of skill there.

Defense has some gems in Trouba, Jones and Skjei.

.....and as I type this Seth Jones scores.

Anyone want to explain why Hockey Canada thought it was a good idea to bring Darnell Nurse?

What a play by Trouba there after a sweet long pass by Dumba. USA will win.

I look forward to seeing Nick Kerdiles next year as a Badger, but frankly I don't see anything special in these forwards. I hope I'm wrong.

I thought he was one of the few standouts for Canada in the first period. Game went downhill after that.

Here are my standouts for the game: Matt Grzelcyk, Seth Jones, Frank Vatrano, Matt Lane for the US and for Canada Scott Laughton, Hunter Shinkaruk, and Troy Bourke.

Carrick being an unusual surname, is Trevor of Canada related to Connor of team USA?

Because the team is 4-0 giving up only three goals so far? Because the team as constructed plays together all year which is a built-in advantage at this tourney?

What about Team Sweden then? 4-0 and only giving up four goals so far. Does that one less goal allowed make it US' tournament to lose?

It'll be interesting to say the least
Jones and Trouba vs Collberg and Forsberg.

No idea how it will go.

Three time defending champion, plus the 4-0 record makes the US the favorite. Whether they will win or not is probably more important.

Team Sweden; 4-0 and only allowing one more goal than US in the tournament. I'd say it's closer than ever. Definitely not US tournament to lose. I feel like people say this just because they defeated Canada? I don't know.
