With that being said, if Florida make the playoffs this year (and they look like a virtual lock), I believe the Leafs will be the only team in the entire league to have not made the playoffs since the lockout? This is with the most financial support of any team in the league, and we don't even have any draft picks better than Schenn or Kadri to show for all this failure. Truly we have been the worst managed team in the post-lockout era, BY FAR.
We have had a few good prospects come through most notable Rask. Other guys I would have loved to still have are Steen who never should have been traded. Colaiacovo, White maybe even Boyes.

I never liked baseball but seems I might have to start watching the jays this season. Seems like the only Toronto team with a chance of doing something good. Unlike year in and out of ****** craptors, fail leafs, garbage argo's. Sick of this ****.

Let the door hit you on the way out.
If you're going to insult my post, at least get the meaning behind my quote right... resigning one's self to cheering for losers means i don't expect the Leafs to win anytime soon.

And no one has seen Schenn all year... part of the problem.

Remember this thread, because we haven't seen one like it in a long time.
Last time the Leafs made the playoffs their C depth was Sundin, Niewendyk, Francis - this season Bozak, Grabo, Connolly - makes some sense now

There's that, and the fact that this is the longest current Stanley Cup Final drought as well... Nobody else's fans has waited this long. Years waiting for cup appearance:

Bruins (1)
Canucks (1)
Blackhawks (2)
Flyers (2)
Penguins (3)
Red Wings (3)
Senators (5)
Ducks (5)
Hurricanes (6)
Oilers (6)
Flames (8)
Lightning (8)
Devils (9)
Blue Jackets (9 - Yet to appear in the finals)
Wild (9 - Yet to appear in the finals)
Jets/Thrashers (10 - Yet to appear in the finals)
Avalanche (11)
Predators (11 - Yet to appear in the finals)
Stars (12)
Sabres (13)
Capitals (14)
Panthers (16)
Rangers (18)
Canadiens (19)
Kings (19)
Blackhawks (20)
Sharks (21 - Yet to appear in the finals)
Islanders (30)
Coyotes/Jets (33 - Yet to appear in the finals)
Blues (42)
Leafs (45)

Even the Blues have been to a cup final (3 times no less since the Leafs last did). Right now I'm not confident that the streak won't hit 50...

Well people only care about the Knicks when they're winning. At least you guys devote everything to the Leafs no matter what.

Steen is the only one of those who would come remotely close to helping us now (besides rask).

From a fan perspective one consolation point was that at least the Panthers haven`t made the playoffs as well. With their win this evening (and the Caps loosing) the Leafs have pretty much clinched the title of being THE BIGGEST LOOSERS IN THE CAP ERA.

Doesn´t matter much on the road ahead (or to the management crew) but as a fan this one stings. Not a title to be proud of or to dismiss (when among other teams fans).

Yup. We've been doomed with bad management. People can say all they want about MLSE spending money but we've done it so poorly. The management they've hired are poor, and the GM's they've hired have hired poor coaches and it just goes down the chain.

I just don't get it. I just don't get how you can't make the playoffs post-lockout, in a league when over 50% of the teams make it, in a league where you can even get some luck to make it. They can out spend any team and yet, they've made so many bad decisions whether that's in trades, signings, developing players and it just baffles me how this team with so much money and resources can do that. With the money they have, how do they not have the best scouting staff, guys that are sharp, know the game and help in these decision makings. Ugh, I just don't get it.

I was 11 and recently immigrated to Canada when Leafs last made the playoffs. That's ridiculous.

Brian Burke, MLSE and players need to step up and apologize for this. Not just words, but mean it. Everyone failed in this organisation.

. Team leadership couldn't motivate the team when it mattered the most.
. Coaching got outcoached on a regular basis.
. Goalies let in first minute goals when team was preparing for final playoff push.
. Defensemen made horrendous turnovers and left men open to come and score goals.
. Forwards mailed it in since February. No clutch goal moments, not a single one that I remember .
. GM put up a roster with way too many dead weights. A roster, with at max, 2 players who would play their heart away to win a game.

So many problems with this team. I don't see this team making playoffs in 2013, at all! None. Zero. Naught.

Sucks balls.

As expected weeks ago. Definitely more disappointing compared to previous seasons just based on their position before the all star break. At least we have our draft pick this season...

The Leafs' long-term uselessness is truly stunning.

It takes a real effort to be this horrid for this long in the NHL. With the salary cap and the draft order that favours the worst teams, the rules are made to give perennially bad teams a chance to claw their way out of the cellar.

But the Leafs have bucked all the odds. Especially incredible when you consider the resources at the Leafs' disposal. They could create an army of the best scouts in the world.

Apparently they have one of the most bloated management teams in the NHL. Perhaps they are all brainless sycophants who tell the head blowhard what a genius he is.

Hats off to the historic, long-term, record-breaking worthlessness of the Leafs! With the Panthers almost guaranteed to make it now (Versteeg must be laughing himself sick), the Leafs wear the crown for long-term futility and time out of the playoffs.

WELL DONE BURKE YOU ARROGANT, SNEERING, SELF-AGGRANDIZING BLOWHARD!

I still have faith that MLSE could shamelessly turn this into an opportunity to milk more money out of the suckers. Logos, shirts, merchandising of all sorts that recognizes the historic screw-up that is 7 years out and counting.

And bet your life on it, at least some invincibly gullible, kool-aid drinking morons would lap it all up and come back begging for more!
