I'm continuing this thread so as to have an appropriate spot to discuss why or why not Priest/Howson should be retained after this season concludes.

Specifically I'd like to personally hear from folks who believe that Priest/Howson should be retained and why?

I believe Howson should go, period. Will he? I go back and forth on that. Priest must also be held responsible, but I don't know how much real effect he has on the product we see on ice. Rumors and speculation aren't sufficient evidence of his role in the hockey operations, so the most I can blame him for is his part in hiring and retaining Howson. Is that enough for me to call for his head? I go back and forth on that, too.

If you terminate Howson, who would lead the coaching search for the head coach that we would end up firing, after Howson is eventually let go, with two years left on his deal so we can pay for him to sit and do nothing? What are we if not a franchise that wastes money on people to sit and do nothing?

Not to mention, things are going to turn around. The curse of Duvie Westcott ends this off season.

I'm sure that, should His Honor feel the need to explain his reasoning, it will be stated quite clearly. Don't mistake disagreement with lack of clarity.
