1 & 4 on that list don't bother me. Its 2 & 3 I am scared of.
I agree with Boston. I don't fear them. But, Philly and Pittsburgh are our biggest concerns and Washington is determined to get back into that 8th seed. Going to be a very telling month.
I hear very little of this actually. Most Jets fans I know actually understand that it was the incredibly crappy ownership group that ruined the Thrashers. We also know that one of the big reasons for the Phoenix franchise having problems is that they put the arena in a horrible location. True, there are definitely idiots in our fan-base, but can't the same be said for all teams?
NO WE ARE PERFECT.
As far as last season vs. this season..The Rangers are playing with an identity. We have something to strive for. Last season, we had next to nothing - the game plan seemingly every night was "Go out there and score or whatever..If that doesn't happen, well just keep trying because something has to happen eventually right?" It didn't feel like they had any sort of set plays or anything that worked consistently. Maybe there was the wire frame set up for what the team's identity was supposed to be, but the players played more like individuals than a team. This year they came flying out the gate like bats out of hell (once they got back home and actually started to get everything going) and they've really stuck to that identity and style of play. It's evident how close this team has become just based on their level of compete almost every game and seeing how things were behind the scenes on 24/7. They've been able to battle through a dozen or so games and came out with 2 points.
The emergence of Callahan as the heart-and-soul leader of this team and how he's stepped up every facet of his game is also an enormous reason that this team does have a solid identity to follow. He's literally everything that this team has come to represent: hard- and often-hitting, shot-blocking, responsible, with a one-for-all and one-for-all mentality. Our defense - namely Girardi and McDonagh - has stepped up huge for us during the absence of Staal and Sauer.
And obviously you can't forget Lundqvist's insane mode that has him vying for the Vezina through 3/4's of the season.
Remeber, us getting 6 points the remainder of the season makes Pittsburgh have to go 5-1 the rest of the way to catch us. Win the next 2 games and the last 4 are to make sure the team is playing well going into the playoffs and to possibly get some rest to players that need it.
2 points tonight. LGR!
pens will stay in second in points and take 4th in conference. they have even tougher schedule than we do- playing Boston, Wash, 2x Flyers who own them this year.. no wonder they do not want to play them in first round
1 & 4 on that list don't bother me. Its 2 & 3 I am scared of.
We can definitely beat Boston, Philly, and Washington. We're a combine 10-1 against those teams. That said, with the way we've been playing this month we can lose to all of them.
Two points tonight would be huge. Don't expect it to be easy though considering it's a back-to-back in a tough arena. 2-1 Rangers, Gaborik scores, Richards scores.
As a Rangers fan, I can safely say we have thousands of idiotic fans. Dozens of them post on the main forum here every month.

Anisimov is definitely starting on the 1st line tonight? Been wanting to see that since Hags has slowed down a little bit.
I've always thought Anisimov has the tools needed to become a dynamite first line center. Wicked shot (when he's got time), good puck handling sticks, can dangle with the best of them and he's a decent passer. Just needs to bulk up and get better at puck possession. Gets knocked off the puck far too easily. We'll see what he does with the opportunity tonight.
Zipay says Henke in goal for the 7th straight game..
Marty injured? Henke's gonna be fatigued..
Nonsense. Henke's only played 57 games this season. Although I don't like Marty sTarting against MTL. They always give our defense fits. But this is no time to wonder if Hank is tired or not. He's had his rest. Plus, he'll be playing all the games in the playoffs anyway.
Love giving Hank the start tonight, get this ****ing win.
I can't remember exactly how their crowd was during our first meeting, but I am excited to see em in action tonight. But hope we can shut them up quick and get these 2 points.

Speaking of which, this guy on the Rangers FB page is a dedicated fan: "Hey new york. I traveled 1628 miles from Brooklyn to Winnipeg to support the rangers tonight!!!!! LET'S GOOO!!!!!!!"
