Scrivens recalled from the Marlies.

Francois Allaire is on the ice, followed by Ben Scrivens.

Am I missing something?

It's a goalie carousel.

They called up Rynnas because they didn't think he'd play. Now that the call-up will be playing, might as well play your #3 and not your #5.

Then what is wrong with Reimer? He'll win?

Leafs realised that there was a potential chance that Rynnas could hurt our tank by posting a 1.000 save% in NHL.

That's horrible. Scrivens better not try to pull a Gerber.

Shouldn't the #3 be playing meaningful games (for the Marlies)? Aren't they battling for playoff positioning?

Most likely. Wouldn't shock me to see him shut down.

I also believe this is a bit of a loophole of the emergency recall in an effort to give both goalies some NHL time. I thought it was strange they recalled Rynnas yesterday, just to send him down today - maybe Scrivens wasn't in town?

Marlies, at the same rate, need a goaltender. Owuya is much needed for the Royals to get them into the playoffs.

I want Scrivens to play well, but not too well

Scrivens is playing for a contract. A bit odd of a callup either way.

why do i feel like all these "injuries" are an excuse to call up Marlies to give them experience? Mac and Frattin were injured mysteriously allowing Kadri and Hamiton call ups. Now Reimer? AND Gus?

Chicago (3 seed) is only 4 points back. I guess that stuff doesn't matter compared to NHL experience and the like.

Players won't play meaningless game with a possibility of getting more injured. They will just sit, if they were in the playoffs u wouldn't see players going down.

We have seen the last game Gus will play as a Leaf. Sad but almost fiting way for him to end his time hear. With Reimer down and Scrivens in a contract year they will probably ride him till the end and see if he has any potential in the NHL.

Ya all this says is that Gus is done as a leaf. Hopefully he signs somewhere and plays well though I liked him though he didn't play that well for us.

I think the Leafs brass is trying to guage where the goalie prospects are, and how soon or how close they are to being ready.

The season is over, so at this point it doesn't really matter anymore, but Burke is going to have to make some tough decisions this summer on who let walk(via free-agency or trade) and who to keep, and who to bring in. Allaire has proven to be a person who can't make this group of Leafs goalie excel. They are too young and can't play the game we expect them too and quite honestly there hasn't been a show-stopping Leafs goalie since the days of Belfour.

This team needs more veteran presence on it, leadership and experience is lacking. In the past guys like Tucker would show up. Roberts kept the team in line, Sundin came to play every night. You don't have any elements in this team right now.

More and more although there were many things about Wilson that were questionable, the overall composition and chemistry of this team is dead.
