Gutless. Rynnas was excellent, as expected.

Meh, if Sribbles plays well, we might get a low draft pick for him in the off-season. I don't really see him sticking with the Leafs.

its possible, imo i think gustavsson is done or it is to give others a chance to look at scrivens.

Gustavsson is certainly done here. Scrivens will not be our back up next year.

Why am I not surprised?

It's not the first time as the Leafs' GM that Burke has pulled some stupid **** in order to screw us out of a top-5 lottery pick.

Only now, it seems like he's trying to screw both of the farm teams as well.

Yet another good reason to get rid of him. It just can't happen soon enough.

I would have liked to see Rynas play a full game to be honest. But I guess Scrivens is ahead of him in the depth tree so it only makes sense.

We must have confidence that Rynnas can hold the fort with the Marlies. Unless Scrivens plays for us for the rest of the season this call up makes zero sense.

If our goalie depth is amazing like people want it to be it shouldn't matter. Plus he see's NHL action as opposed to AHL games. This way you can see what he's made of in a small sample size though

Word now is that Rynnas is back up tomorrow and it seems the Leafs may have given Scrivens a bonus with a day of NHL pay. Not sure how accurate this is but it's what I've heard, sorry no link though.

Why are we messing with the Marlies groove and risking our chances of losing?

I think burke and co has learned that we need a veteran goalie, but i am saying in potential of who to keep and who goes.

Leafs may have given Scrivens bonus with day of NHL pay. Huge key to Marlies playoff run. Won't want to disrupt that.

Looks like the move was just to give Scrivens some bonus cash for his good play.

Gave Scrivens an extra day of NHL pay for his good work in the AHL this season.

With a .924 in February (8 games) and .963 in March (8 games) he deserved the call up.

Ben Scrivens - http://theahl.com/stats/gamebygame.php?id=3821

@jonasTSN1050 - Sounds like Scrivens was recalled on a very temporary basis and will return to Marlies tomorrow. Rynnas likely back in his place.

That move with giving Scrivens an extra day of NHL cash I think should show anyone still doubting it that Burke has full control of the Leafs, and doesn't have to answer to MLSE.

How is this allowed with no call-ups left?

Rynnas on emergency basis for Reimer...but then Scrivens for Rynnas and now Rynnas back for Scrivens?

i think its a classy move. i know its not burkes personal money and if it were perhaps he might not make a move like that but i think in a frustrating season throwing a player a bone like this is a huge thank you and shows that despite what we all think of burke he has the players in mind always. its an easy thing to forget.

i can admit im frustrated with burke but realistically the absolutely best outcome that could have happened this season was we squeeked into the playoffs at 7 or 8th and got killed. at least this way we add a top prospect. i almost prefer it this way

A chance to get a look at how the guys both/either respond at this level, a good-faith gesture to recognize their play, get 'em a few extra bucks each. With both looking at RFA status, it can't hurt to offer incentives to them like this to keep them in the fold, given there's plenty of competition for one job and that's before trade/free agency.
